Anyone have an EEPROM Programmer?

Hey guys, I just made a bin for my dad's friend but i think either my programmer or my two EEPROM chips are fried. I'm using a Pocket Programmer 2 to burn the bins and SST 27SF512 EEPROMS. When i was done with the bin, i plugged the programmer into my laptop, powered it up n' inserted the prom... cept i didn't run the pocket programmer 2 program first, which u're supposed to do n' i just forgot. Anyway, I didn't figure it out right away why the programmer couldn't burn the bin correctly. When i went to remove the prom and try my other one i noticed that it was SUPER hot. if the chip was hot, then i assume the programmer must also be hot, and potentially damaged. So anyway, at this point I don't know whether it's my proms that are bad, or the programmer.
Basically, I wanna know if any of you have a programmer that can burn a bin on an SST 27SF512 EEPROM...i know not all programmers can erase the "SF" series of proms. If anyone has a programmer i can borrow, or if I could send you the bin and my prom, I would really appreciate the help.

Learning how to burn chips is my next car project, after I get the differential fixed in the '92 Z and 1LE brakes on the '87, then at last I'll rid myself of those irritating EGR codes...

Only person I know right now burning is Crazy Hawaiian and I dunno his level of expertise.

I have a PP2 if you wanna use it to test. I dont remember the model of the chips I have offhand, will have to look it up. I'm starting to get into the chip burning but I'm not very experienced yet. I'm still 1 or 2 parts away from setting up a true romulator, but I can do the regular style burn and swap. Really makes it easier if you have the Moates ZIF adapter. I haven't tried any real tuning yet, only changed simple stuff like fan temps and whatnot. I'm kind of afraid to do any real tuning because I dont have a WB02 setup yet. But I do have quite a few projects ahead of me that will require some tuning ... major one being the 749 ECM swap with $58 code into my 91 Z28 to replace the Vortech FMU. Pretty soon I plan to swap the Cam and Intake on the L98 so guarantee I'll need to do some real tuning there. Just lemme know.

oh man, that should be a fun project... swapping/repinning the 7730 over to the 749. I've been doin this OBD I tuning stuff for about a year n' a half now n' i think i have a fairly good grasp on how to do things right. Don't know much about tuning MAF cars tho, since the 165 ECMs perform fueling correction based on exact measured airflow. Mostly i've been doing MAP equipped stuff. But that'd be cool if we could hook up sumtime to see if it is my programmer that's messed up... i can bring my laptop PP2 n' chips n' see if the programmer works on your computer, or just use your comp n' programmer to burn the bin on my chip. and i am using moates' memcal adapter w/ZIF. Oh, n' i have a pocket romulator if you ever wanna use it, works well with TunerPro RT. In any event, lemme know how u wanna work everything out, Thanx.

You can barrow my PP2 if you want. I'm not really using it right now (in the middle of suspension and transmission swaps). And I dunno if I'm really gonna be using it that much in the near future. I'm 99% sure I'm gonna be using the PROMinator for both my 749 swap in the 91Z and SD conversion in the 89 IROC. But for friends cars (like Rob's 95 LT1 swap into his G-Body or Kalanis teal L98 Vette) I'll prolly need to use the PP2 to burn them chips. Just lemme know if you wanna barrow it.
