Time's Running Out for the Track

With only a month and a half left, does anyone want to try to get something together before HRP closes?

I'm free on weekends as long as I have a little notice. Still no thirdgen, but I'm pretty sure I won't have one before the end of next month.

Ian can bring out his turbo T/A, maybe Anthony's vortec engine is almost ready? I think Keola was trying to sell his SS.... well, anyone who's got anything to race should still bring it out before it's all over and gone.

I'm definately going to hit up the track at least once or twice. Might head down this weekend if the weather clears up. Let's get some input on this!

Sick last weekend, injured this weekend. Also been rather wet lately so I haven't been out there. I'm dying to get out there, this weekend for damn sure because there's barely time left for my plans.

My goal is to be able to smoke my firebird before the end of the month....

With the track closing at the end of this month, two dates are must-attends:

March 19 -- Pro-Gas

March 26 -- Fastest Street Car Shootout

Drivers running these really fast cars will probably put on a heck of a show, seeing as how they'll be garage queens on Oahu.

Track opens at four, go early, stay late.

Track owners might also have some sort of ceremony or farewell party on the last day, but not have heard anything about it.

I thought saturday was the last progas.

Can regular joes run on those nights you listed? I don't mind watching fast cars, but it's not the same without being able to race my own car. They already have that on tv. Smells better in person though.

I'll be out there every day until they close unless I can't race for one reason or another. I think my car might be able to hang with a stock thirdgen.

Only two weeks left.

FSCS is this Saturday ($10 admission). Saturday, April 1st is supposed to go until 2:00 am.

Whether you're racing or not, or driving a thirdgen or not, check it out before it's gone.

Anyone heading out this weekend? (Last chance!)

I missed last weekend because of rain and minor car issues. I will not miss this weekend, no matter what.

I went, didn't see ya though scott. Ran a 13.4 in the 01' SS I just picked up, prettymuch stock w/ a lid n the Slp exhaust. Waited in line forever (1.5 hrs) to end up racing a bike, smoked me with a 12.8 hehe I was close.

Nice time! What was your trap? Did you get more than 1 run? Were they showin' 60's?

I went Friday. It was EMPTY and barely wet, but the timer was broken! My parts didn't come in on time so I just gave up trying to go Saturday. Also, it was actually GREAT WEATHER for once, so I figured it'd be the biggest turnout ever. Didn't feel like waiting 60-100 minutes per run when I still have "only one" modification.

My parts finally came in today though- right on time. (Or, at least when I expected them to come in....)

Friday night, I spun worse than my firebird ever did on my only run of the night. 14.9 @ 93, didn't show 60' but it must have been at least 2.5+. That was exactly as I drove it to the track, plus about 10 minutes of ripping it to dry the track, so it was nice and hot, and no track preps.

Not only that, but I was NEXT to stage when they turned everyone around on Friday.

Guess my firebird remains the quickest car that I've owned.

Anyone else make it out for one last shot?

Scott
