Please post additional information, I'm sure people would be interested in knowing more... Thanks for bringing up the topic!
Well all I know as of now, if my friend decides to take over the club they will give him all the paper work. I have a few other guys interested its just a matter of prolly setting something up before summer is over. Like a cruise, don't matter if your car is down, its just coming out & showing support. I know of a few guys who hangout with Pearl Harbor F-bodies guys & they don't really care for it. But I will keep everyone posted when I ge more info.
As for your car being down as a club we can help who ever needs help on their car the best we can. If you have any ideas let me know.
I know I have not been very active lately, but this sounds like a good idea to me. I was interested in joining this club years ago but then it kind of died. I think we need a good club on the island that can cater to all generations, and all locations. While some clubs out there may be open to these ideas, it usually plays out that certain generations stick together, or too many members are from a specific area making the club feel specific to that area. This club name has the potential to cater to everyone, just need to have the right mood/style.
I think it all starts with a website, and in that aspect, I can assist. If you guys get this going again, and you are interested in doing a website, let me know. We can set it up fo free and get this going.
Really... why does a car club in an islated area like Hawaii have to be model specific?
There are clobs like Paradise Cruisers that dont care what you drive, and thats how they have always been. Come out, hang out and have fun.
Sure, there are times you'd love to see a full row of Camaro's stacked up by year in a parking lot... but it kind of shows a bit of snobbery dont you think?
Roll in to a cruise as a group then park by make model, etc, but you still all hang out and shoot the crap together.
Heck, this is the first 3rd gen I didnt have the desire to strip to nothingness.
I would love to see the return of Hawaiian Island Camaros. I am a Mustang guy who enjoys all rides, especially American muscle, so come on back. We know there are lots of Camaros out there so all you need is the volunteers to get things going again. See ya at the First Hawaiian Auto Show this week. If GM is finally wise enough to bring back the car, you guys can bring back the club, right?
Aloha, Don
