Camaro Body kits for 82-92
I came across this surfing the web...this is the only body kit I've ever seen for a 3rd Gen Camaro. I personally think it's a little too extreme. But hey, if you got the money then what the hell? Lemme know what y'all think.

Overall, I'd have to agree with you guys. If I had an extra $7,000 and numerous F-bodies, it might be something I'd try. But yeah, turning an American car into a Ferrari look-alike is wrong. Thanks for the input guys.

Yeah, that thing shows up every now and then. I mean come on, if I wanted a Ferrari I'd buy a...uh nevermind.
Gumby, what would you call that, a Pontiac Superbird or Firebird Daytona?

It would go ver well as the 90s version, if dodge made it.
I think that is a good remake of an old car, has the original lines but is still up to date. not lik ethat new GTO with a grand am nose, a neon tail and a honda civic wing.

I know this sounds horrible to you guys but I bet there's a lot of people out there afriad to say it - but I love it. I don't like the interior, but I think the outside is awesome. Seriously, though, I understand if many of you are totally against making our cars look like something else, but making it look like an exotic car is sweet. I don't think it's something I'd do to my baby, but if I had an extra to mess around with, I'd totally do it - forget its a camaro and look at what it is - a sweet looking exotic car! make it fast, clean, and reliable and its no fake. You guys who think it is can keep your noble ideals and stand in a corner with a smug look while I'm flying by in an inexpensive exotic car that's catching some serious looks!
I don't mean to offend anybody, this is just my opinion, but calling it stuff like "gay"? - only if you don't like ferraris and lambos! And saying somebody should be shot for doing it? That's a terribly extreme view and you should be shot for having it! (See the irony?) Anybody agree?

Unconventional? Yes. Original? Kind of. Good looking? Not in my book of AMERICAN cars. For a euro, it at least has a good platform...
I don't think Id bother wasting my money (even if it was given to me) on something like that. I love camaros, all of them, because of their muscle car looks and styleing. You take that away, and you are left with just another fast car, and around here, they aren't that hard to come by.

I don't now about where you're from, but I've NEVER seen even a remotely exotic car here - they sell them in Dallas, but I've never seen one that wasn't at a car show, so I think it would be awesome to have something that looks like that, and I don't think it would be just "another fast car" - a WRX is just another fast car because the looks aren't that great, but this something quite unique.
I agree, it doesn't look good for an american car, but don't proclaim it to be your camaro with a body kit, just think of it as a unique car, unbound to any certain place - I have a great love for our american cars, believe me, but I'm also fascinated with and love cars like ferraris and lambos, so this would be a fun and cool thing to do (if i had an extra camaro), and around here, would be something hard to come by

Thanks for the vote of confidence, good to hear I'm not alone!
As for the charger, they're worth something to the people on these boards! Man I'd love to have one, especially a General Lee! (And no, I'm not a southern kkk white supremist but I'd want the rebel flag and all lol)

I got your back Jamesbob02...I originally posted this topic to get input and some discussions going about this body kit I found. I think it kinda sucks that people have to resort to violent comments to get their point across. Anyways, thanks for the honest input from a couple of you guys.

The mian problem with e "evoluzione" kit is the price.
You better have one nice ride to think about spending that much on a body kit and if you did have that nice of a ride, why mess with it.
you should have 7-10,000 in your engine and frame before you buy a body kit for a stock 305 aro.
Big problem I see would be the re-sale value. who's gonna spend 10-15,000 on a camaro; even with a nice body.
But I'm sure somewhere out there is a guy with a 500 dollar thirdgen just wishing he had another 7 G's to spruse up the body.
and for that 7 G's you don't even get the whole kit, still plenty of optional crap too buy.
a body kit should cost no more then 2-3,000 unless it replaces factory parts.

ya that body kit does not fit that car. the only thing i would do to a third gen was leave the body alone and just toss money into the engine to make it a sleeper. i say sound of the car and performance over body kits. who ever thought of that body kit was definately on something

Personally I think the kit is a great idea, if I had a better job and a super bucket early sc i'd go for it. You'd turn numerous more heads then you would in the sc, and for all the right reasons.

just looking at the design of the body kit.... it looks exotic and unique, and no one else will have it. also, it would have the added bonus of the good ol' american rumble when its cruising.
but...
i couldnt bring myself to do that to a thirdgen, i love the design too much, and i simply could not butcher the car like that. another thing is, with such an attention grabbing design, it should be able to whip a**, and unless you've got some deep pockets, the money for the kit will undoubtedly take away from performance money...
it would make me cry to see someone do this and not spend any money for performance.... in my book, that would define "****"

I agree with 90firebird...let's say someone does have the $ to buy this kit, you'd have a nice lookin car but what about performance? If you're drivin around in a car like that people are gonna wanna race you. If you're only focusing on the appearance then you're gonna get your *** kicked on the street and the other guys gonna be yellin out his window "I just beat a Ferrari!!!"

I think you guys have to remember that the "evoluzione" body kit/company is NOT trying to make the car look like an altered version of the 3rd gen, nor are they trying to make a cheap version of a Ferarri. They are trying to make a completely different "car" using a 3rd gen chassis.
I don't really like the 2nd version of the Evoluzione. If I had the money, I'd DEFINATELY consider doing the 1st version of it. The kit is pretty much a Fiberglass body, it looks good (in my opinion), you have the option to fit wider tires in the back (without going beyond the wheel well), and heck, do up some suspension mods and you're gonna have a ride that will blow away most cars out there if you had a nicely built 350 to boot.
When I was working at the Bodyshop, I was considering undertaking this project. I was planning it over a 2-3 year time period.. Can you imagine what this thing would sound/look if I had a 383, 335's in the back, and a 6spd?

Oh I definitely wouldn't undertake this project without a solid 15-20k first - I see what you guys are saying about looks but no performance but I would have no intention of that. That's why I said if you could make it clean, fast, reliable, it would really be something - doing just the body kit would be unacceptable in most cases, but I for one would be prepared to back it up, and that's why I'd do it.

personally, i think body kits for our third gens are fine, IF AND ONLY IF, the dont change the looks all too much. theres a decent one on ftforce.com but that kit changes the look too much. i bought my third gen for the geometric look, the angles, not too curvy, but not too boxy, just right. changing this aspect would completely ruin the car for me. but to each his own

Hey ShadowZ28, I payed www.ftforce.com a visit and checked out that body kit you were talking about. I must say it's the ugliest damn thing I've ever seen in my life. It looks like one of those moon cruiser vehicles. I think the Evoluzione body kit looks 10 times better, but it's also 7 times the price...you get what you pay for I guess.

I'd much rather see that superbird instead of the body kit thats on ftforce.com. Someone on this board should make a body kit of some kind for our cars. Alot of these aftermarket kits are way over the top. I'm sure that theres a person inclined to do such a thing on thirdgen.org.

There seems to quite a bit of negative on the thought of modifying the lines of the 3rd gen. I don't have a real problem with it. I rather like most of the lines created on the Evoluzione. I don't much care for the what they did with the front, but I really like what they did for the rear quarters. The price however is a bit steep.
Another site to show a simpler body mod for the third gen that I really like is http://www.americansportscar.com/pro...eneration3.htm
The hood is a bit much, but the flairs on all four corners is really nice. Not so much change that you still know its a 3rd gen. Sorta gives it the Can-Am look. If you got meats that look awesome but can't stuff them under the car, this will help. Price aint too bad at about $900.

I kinda like the hood. I need a new one and that one is 50.00 cheaper. I've always loved the louvers on the hood but I need a cowl induction for clearance. Why choose one, when I can have both!

I personally think no thirdgener can afford that kit. Otherwise we'd be driving cars like that. CHA CHING.
Theres nothing cooler pulling up to a nicely style european car. You see the driver sipping on their starbucks coffee. Then leaving them in the dust. hahahhaha.

I would have to agree that most 3 gen owners probably cant even afford that kit. And also, I wouldnt even waste my time even trying to put it on, it looks like hammered dog $***. Personal opinion, if you like go for it, but I wouldnt suggest it.

that's what I've been finding too is a fiero not firebird or camaro and it's funny one person made a comment saying that somewhere out they is a guy w/ a 500 dollar 3rd gen hoping they had 7 g's to put into a body kit well that's me kinda mine was 600 I've already another 600 in it and I have planned to put at least 10-20 g's in it but I wouldn't mind putting a body kit like that on it if it was available cause it would indeed be unique as someone pointed out most of the 3rd gen are looked upon as junk nowadays it has to look really nice just to be considered worth driving to some people don't get me wrong i love mine but I know what people think when they see it they think it can't keep up anymore lil do they know myself i would try it just to see think about it it's still a camaro underneath it would still handle like that and you actually might get more challenges and have the oppurtunity to prove to people that camaros aren't ready now nor will they ever be ready to take a dirt nap but myself at the moment until I can save up that much I'm happy w/ the 91 rs bodykit that I got for 100
