The best looking ones I've seen were the factory types. See these on Ebay and the parts ads on web sites. Be sure to get all the install fasteners though, special stuff and hard to find.

i found one on ebay, but it didnt have hardware, and it looked kind of rough.
i looked on the GM website, but it doesnt look like they still make that particulat part anymore.
cragar's website only seems to have wheels.
nobody knows of any companies who still make these items?

thanx for the link. not to whine, but i'd like to hold out for a set that doesnt have the brake-light fins at the top.
i went to cragar's website and found a FAQ section that addressed the fact that they no longer make the louvers.
there HAS to be somone out there who still makes these things.
HELP?!?! ANYONE?!?!?

I had the same Craigar rear louvers without the third brake light. I think next to factory those are the best looking ones I have seen.

I used to know a couple more places with better looking ones, i just cant seem to find them right now. I would say go with ebay. Just wait around until a nice set goes up. You wont pay more than like 150 for an absolutely mint one.

you're in alabama, correct? i'm moving to SC this month, so we wouldnt be that far apart. if this yard wanted a decent price for the set (also if its in usable shape) i'd like to try and work something out.

how rare(if u wanna call it that) are the one piece rear louvers? I have a set i don't think they were factory but i could be mistaken.

The previous owner (in pic) had the brackets in wrong spots/spacing reason there some bumps. I've since taken it off and its sitting in my garage

I myself would also like to aquire a set of these beautiful and functional louvres and think they might accent my camaro nicely. They quite possibly might fit in with the theme of my car and compliment my bug shield and custom moon roof. Please someone tell me of a place where I may purchase these. Thanks in advance

I have a set. They are 3 pc all metal black and they are on the car so all the parts are there. Whoever wants these I'd like to trade for a good 305 starter or a distributor set up for my stock 82 motor. Write to k4rjj at comcast dot net I'm in West Georgia.

I found a set in a junkyard a few years back, not sure if they were original GM but at 50 dollars they were a steal and I couldn't passon them. A little sanding and some paint and they looked like new again. Even had the brackets as well.

Re: rear window louvres
The new louvers you can buy now are made by a company called Wilpak Industries and are sometimes sold under the Astra Hammond name.
Here's there website: http://www.willpak.com/.
From what I've seen the cheapest prices on louvers are through Amazon.com but you'll have to look up the part number you're looking for on Wilpak's site. Link to application list: http://0037a4b.netsolhost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/ApplicationGuide_CarLouvers.pdf
Amazon doesn't do a good job of telling what the louvers fit. They basically just list a part number.
By getting mine from Amazon I saved $60 over JC Whitney's price and got free shipping (I have an Amazon Prime account)

Re: rear window louvres
I'll take $60 plus whatever shipping/packing costs at UPS Store. If you have a buddy in North Georgia that will hold them for you and pay me that would save the shipping costs. I'm taking these to the Lanier swap meet 1st Saturday of the month (sep) so claim em now. Pics as I said will be posted this weekend as soon as I can get the car photographed. They are straight and all there so claim them early if you want.

Re: rear window louvres
I plan on getting a set of louvers over the winter, and I followed this post and looked at the links for the ones that are still available.
Looks like they are all 3 piece, which doesn't really bother me but it says the all ABS plastic ones are mounted by using double sided 3M tape?? Not sure about that. Anyone have these, or have a pic of them installed??
Otherwise, I guess I'll get the 3 piece with the aluminum center and ABS sides - I think they look pretty good.

Re: rear window louvres
If I may add a comment. Before spending a lot of money and time I'd recommend finding a third gen with these and looking it over first. The louvers look good from certain angles, not so good from others. I took mine off the first day I had the car. I'll keep them since they are original to the car, but can't imagine they'll ever be on it again.

I've had the louvers on for about a month now and so far so good on the tape holding. Like you, I had my doubts. Once I finally get a chance to clean my car up I'll post some pictures.

They still make a one piece version it's all ABS. I have it and yes it's mounted with brackets held on by double-sided tape but the brackets also wrap around the edge of the rear window frame as well.
