Whats the widest tire i can put on my thirdgen camaro
I have a 92' camaro with drum brakes in the rear. I plan on ordering SLP's ZR1 rims which go for $700 dollars and thats a good price. The rims are 17x9.5 and 275's seem good but whats the widest i can go without the tire sticking out of the fender or hiting the firewall Please specify the size of the backspacing for each tire size u name
Thank u very much

I have those wheels Check my signature for pictures. I used 275's out back with 1.25" spacers and 255's up front with 2.25" spacers. I am having a problem with wheel rubbing on the front wheel well. It developed about 2 months after I put the wheels on but only on sharp turns. It ripped out the fender liner and after that came out the tire will actually caught the lower corner of the fender itself and it bent the hell out of the fender. I have no idea why this happens. If I had gone with the 275's up front I would have been totally screwed so thats something to think about. But there are others using 275's all around with no problems.

With a little banging on the inner fenderwells, I fit some 295/50R15 in the back. I have the stock, second gen turbo wheels. I think that they are 15x8. They have a nuetral offset. (none) Meaning that I have 4" of backspacing. Nothing changed when I swapped rears.

you can probably use the 295's out back but you may need a different spacer size.

315/35/17's will fit.
Myself and a few others have them.
You need 6" of offset for them to clear the inner most contact point after you hammer them out a bit.
If you stay with either a 15" or 16" rim you can go with a 295. They look damn good as well and I'm sure they hook up better than a 245.
