Re: Youngs F-Body

Thanks Iceman, when I did a search for Youngs F body, nothing came up. I did not know they were known by another name, after reading some of the post, I will not be dealing with them, they had some terrific prices, they had J & M camber caster strut mounts on for 165.00

Try fasttoys.net.....also, if you Google there are a few places to get these mounts for cheap.

Glad to help eh!

Re: Youngs F-Body

I am waiting on orders from Young's right now:

Hood emblem - being made for me as vendor has none!
(ordered over a week ago, still not even shipped)

Iroc grill insert, again waiting on their vendor, same order as above, still not shipped

rear shocks, ordered 2 weeks ago, finally shipped yesterday, due to me tomorrow

They have good prices on SOME stuff, but this waiting is not good

I will be asking for a discount on the shipping or something when I call AGAIN on Monday to chase my grill inser and emblem, can't do fogs until it comes in ;(

They had the best price on the grill
(well matched best price elsewhere anyway, $80 shipped for brand new)

and are the only place I saw the CF emblem at all...so they have some good things going for them, but don't expect ur stuff in a few days like it would be from anywhere else.

Re: Youngs F-Body

these guys are right up the road from me. they have about 14 f-bodys in the yard behind the shop and somewhere around 8 "bays" to work on local stuff. They have a $hit load of door panels as they just acquired a foreclosed company's stock... lots of parts on shelves, pretty clean place too, fairly large for a fbody shop. I'm thinking they outsource a lot of their parts and "middleman" a lot of stuff too. but who doesnt. I went down to hawks a few times in the past month also. There's no comparison--hawks is way larger and 10 times better (and 100 times busier which is good) Youngs seems a little *******ish hillbilly old school. I believe his father owns "camaro concepts" just a little further up the road, and he works on 1st, 2nd generation f-bods, and youngs does 3rd gen.

I'd probably only get something from youngs since he's up the road and I could bird dog him about my order. They've gotta be outsourcing nearly everything--except what they've scrapped off of the cars out back. Hawks: 10 outta 10........ Youngs: 6 outta 10.

Re: Youngs F-Body

Just called AGAIN...took ages to get through (was on hold for 10-15 mins three times!)

After 2.5-3 weeks since placing my order they still can't even tell me when my grill will ship!

I had no choice but to cancel and order elsewhere....grrrrrr

Re: Youngs F-Body

It's official, from my experience Young's or F=body whatever you know them as are terrible.

As I said above I had to cancel my grill etc
Now today after SIX WEEKS since my order was placed they still couldn;t even tell me if my emblem had been made! Never mind when it would ship!

THEN tried to charge me a re-stock fee for canceling the order!
Can you believe it! A re-stock fee cos they can't sell me what they advertised!?

kiss my ar$e young's!!

Re: Youngs F-Body

Okay on MARCH 3RD I ordered rear window louvers, hood struts, and some weatherstripping and waited the 4-6week period. Only 4 though. I called and THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE MY LOUVERS!!!!!!! I was told they would be in shortly. OKay so I ran into some money issues and it seemed that all was lost but.... oh wait.... ill try calling youngs again but no they probably shipped the order. Guess what? I was WRONG. On MAY 1ST, my Louvers STILL werent in so I cancelled the order and they 'only' charged me a 10% restocking fee instead of the usual 25%. 10 percent is still gonna be 50 bucks. So theres money that they got for FREE. They told me my money would be in my account within 1-7 business days. Guess what? its been 8 business days. Guess who recieved a pissy call? yup. I called em today TWICE and both times someone ask for my name and number and told me 'who your looking for is already on the line and they will call you back'. Yeah guess who didnt call back. I told them straight up today 'why do you need a 10% restocking fee? What the f*&k are you restocking?'

Guess whos getting another call tomorrow? Yessir and if they dont revoke that restocking fee, sh^ts gonna hit the fan big time. Ive already got someone hounding me for 500 bucks which is conveniently how much my order cost. Without the restocking fee taken out.

And right there on their shipping policy?

" **Shortages
We attempt to fill each order immediately, however if an item is out of stock we will attempt to contact the customer as quickly as possible."

ZING!!!!! Youngs is gonna get pwned

Re: Youngs F-Body

it's not just me then!

They are SO amateur that if it wasn't for the fact I DID at least get my shoks from them I would have been asking them "are you even a real company????"

They suck - although Brian who answered about 15 of my calls is a nice bloke....he just works for a company that evidently offers WAY more than they can deliver!

When they tried to charge me a restock fee for my CF emblem I told them to f#ck off, how can u restock something that u STILL don't even know if the vendor has made it yet, much less shipped it!!!
The re-stock fee was waived....now I just have to wait 1,2,3 weeks for my second refund now....(first one was my grill they also had no clue where it was!)

Re: Youngs F-Body

Well the 10% restocking fee in my case kinda makes sense because they need to pay for shipping for the part they ordered but still im pissed.

Brian and Denise are cool. Brians the one that took 15% off of the restocking fee for me

You're all catching on to why the were ranked #6 in the Top 12 worst businesses in the Charlotte/Metro area last year. Things obviously haven't gotten any better.

Re: Youngs F-Body

Stay the F-body away from those guys!! I had to reverse the charges on my VISA after I finally got through after 2 weeks of calling, and they told me I was out of SOL even though they charged me 2 hours after I ordered. I ordered a small trim piece and they charged my CC $108 to ship it!!!!! How the hell are you gonna charge that much to ship a USED trim piece?!?!?!?! Sorry to flame, but these guys gotta get put out of business.

They are the worst as far as I am concerned. They took forever to send my order to stainless works after spending over $1K with them, and then gave me the run around. They don't answer the phone, and if you do, they don't know what they are talking about. It took me seriously, 4-5 months to get my exhaust. It took them almost 2 months to order them from stainless works. Then they didn't send me the cross member and that was another month. Then when I told them I would never buy anything from them again, they said ok". F*** them. I have plenty of stuff to buy. They aren't getting my money. No sorry or anything.

Re: Youngs F-Body

I beleive this is the place I had put an order in years ago for the SLP (Ronal) 92 Firehawk wheels. Took 2 weeks, no reply. I e-mailed then and then called. They told me there was a strike at the plant that cast the wheels in Canada for Ronal and that it may take a while. I cancelled my order and they didnt charge me a restock fee. That was at least good.
I ended up ordering from Hawks the wheels. I got the story which was, that SLP had Ronal re-make the wheels for a new run due to popularity. Somewhere after casting a bunch, the mold broke and that Ronal decided to not make a new one. So what was made, was all that was left. And Mr Hawkins had bought up a bunch of sets. Which was good for me, since I had waited 6 months to save enough up or just these wheels. They were the only ones I wanted.
Needless to say, Ive been a Hawks customer and perfectly satisfied everysince.

I ordered a part from them in September 2008 and payed for it and still don't have it. I send them emails and never a reply. Be careful they are now on E-bay people were asked to change there ratings on this dealer, I wonder what they got for that?

Re: Youngs F-Body

I had to keep calling, not e-mailing. The guy who answers is nice enough but he always has to wait on other people for answers.

When I finally got them to refund my Carbon Fiber emblem order cos it took
so long the thing showed up a month later! LOL

I'd be asking for a refund if I were you, and don't let them pull their "re-stock fee" cr@p!!

They suck, period.

Do not order from Youngs F-body if you want your parts anytime in the near future. Had a very bad experience with them back in June 2008 and will never use them again. Finally had to get Mastercard involved.
