air ride/bagged third gens
my hugger orange camaro is now parked for atleast 2 years, she is getting a carb 5.3 blow thru setup (masterpower 70mm) and a t56. am i the first to want to bag a third gen?? im goign to be installing airride on my car, and i want to be able to set it as low as i can without a crazy amount of work, im hoping to just cut the bump stops, put in the bolt in strut style bags and lay the ground effects abour an inch off the ground. im planing on mini tubing my camaro, and im gonna tuck 20 inch irocs in the back. im sure ill get a bunch of people hating on this, but i dont really care. if u dont have anything constructive to say, then dont!
Does anyone have an pics of airride on a third gen? i know sickness has airride on his black z28 but are there any others

Search Irocbirdbuilder... He was the first one on site other than Kandied. I like all your plans except the 20" Irocs... I will keep my mouth shut on those

Re: air ride/bagged third gens
When we installed my airride....I had the 18/20 IROC combo....didn't look to bad....but I wanted that "deep dish" look....so I switched to my INTROS.
and with the INTRO's:
Also, if you plan on going with teh 20" IROCS in the back...you won't have to "tub" anything. The 20" IROCS are only 8" wide.....they fit right in with no mods. With my 20X10 INTRO's....I had to do alot of hammering and shaping to the inners for them to fit with all of the air out of the system.

How often do you actually adjust it once you set your ride height
If I want to slam it for a show...I press the 1st preset....and thats all...the system will let out off of the pressure in each bag. Your options are endless...you can do whatever pressure you want in each bag as well.
Here is a ride height picture:
I have the preset at about 100 psi in the front and about 50 psi in the rear

Re: air ride/bagged third gens
Ya I read up on the digital system when it 1st came out from A.R.T. Was Talking to them at a PRI show before the AIR Struts kandied run even came out. (actually was durring the install of his car) anyways.....
Air ride is deff. bad a$$. I Just don't know how much Id actually adjust it vs the cost. Compared to getting a GW weight jack setup. I guess I can't really compare the two. As im sure ride quality is totally diff. between the two also.

Re: air ride/bagged third gens
Well Im convinced that air ride makes your car look badass!
Im not sure if this is a stupid question, but how does it make it perform handling wise?
Does it depend on the rest of your suspension like shocks, springs ETC

Re: air ride/bagged third gens
just re-read DTOPCHEVY'S question .... I will be using tubular k-member but stock boxed a-arms with poly bushings. as far as the handling and performance mine won't be completed till later part of June, however i hear performance and handling can't be beat. Mine will be daily driven and from what i hear it can give years of service from it.

Re: air ride/bagged third gens
Looking at doing this to the front(maybe whole car) of my 87 Iroc. It is too low now with the splitter for DD and loading onto trailers.
Has anyone FINISHED airbags with a tubular front end yet? I talked to ridetech yesterday and he was unsure of what it would take to do it that way.

I think if i did another kit i would buy the bigger stuff off ebay and have brackets made up might save a few bucks that way. By the wat that is a very good price depending on compressor and valves

Quick question the more psi you have in the air bags the stiffer it is I assume and how is driving with it lowered vs fully aired up is there a, go by for comparison of psi vs spring rate or it's to many variables or do the shocks you choose to run play a roll also when using adjustable vs non adjustable

Re: air ride/bagged third gens
where do you all have your tanks and everything mounted?
I am thinking about picking up the airpod setup and mounting it
where the spare tire goes like sickness has his (great work man)
just wondering about and looking for feed back about the over all performance gains or losses with these setups
