Camaro & Firebird hatch interchangable?
I was wondering if the camaro & firebird hatches were interchagable. I have a 89 formula w/ a rotten wrap around wing w/ a defroster and I took the tint off, its a PITA to take off. I was thinking of puttin a high rise on, just for now till I get it painted, hopefully black , or if I can only find a camaro hatch in the junkyards.

Well now,
Does this mean that hatches with the high mounted third brakelight interchange as well, with no mods to the wiring? Meaning, the wiring will also work with the interchange, without any splicing? (Example: '91-'92 interchange with ''87-'90?)
I never bothered looking at the wiring.
George

The physical hatch deck and glass will fit any year to any year body.
There are small changes in the 3rd brakelamp position/wiring and hatch striker.
The wing/spoiler mounted brakelights have a contact in the rear trim panel and another on the deck. It's to light the lamp when the hatch is closed.
The highmount is wired though the headliner (not sure about the 1st highmounts though..85-86?).
Also, the (pulldown) striker/latch/whatever you want to call it, changed from a round piece to a thick, stamped piece.
All the crap will interchange (bolt-up) on the decklids though.
