Steering wheel nut
I need to know the size of the nut that holds on the steering wheel. My car never came with one. And I know it's not safe to drive around like that. So I need to know what size and thread pitch to look for at the local home improvment store. It's just easyer and cheaper to get it there then to drive all the way to the junkyard then pay to get in and pay for the nut. Thanks in advance for all the help! Adam :-)

In my case, about 6' 1" and 260#
Sorry, couldn't resist that one!
I'll check my FBody CD and see if they show the size for you. Owe you that now...

For an 82-87 it's a 1/2-20 hex nut
Went to a M14x1.5 in '88.

After the nut goes on, there's supposed to be a little fastener/retainer that clips over the threaded portion to keep the nut in place--I suppose as a safety feature.
