Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
#1, you have a Camaro. Yours are smaler
#2, the 92/92 'birds do use the smaller size, due to the different nose.
To the OP, I'd be skeptical. I've tried lamps like those & the light output sucked. Maybe those Hellas would be better, but I dunno. I'm just going to do a full HID conversion on mine.

Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
From what I understand, the ones that say they are D.O.T. are nothing more than H4 conversions. The ones that are e-code/ece headlights have a slightly different shaped housing (but still fit) and project light from halogen bulbs better. Think of the e-codes as focusing the light better instead of scattered.
82-90 firebirds are 6x7, 91-92 are 4x6.
I have hella e-code 4x6's and they are very good quality, a lot better design than the ebay H4 conversions. I've had both. Haven't got a chance to try out the hella's yet.

Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
In other threads about this, yes. But sorry, I'm not going to sit here & search for them, then post them for you. When you can just do the searches for yourself.....

Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
The Summit Racing link goes to a bare, empty housing. It is up to the buyer to decide what lamp to put inside it.

Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
oh, i thought that it came with the conversion of some sort to wire it up to a H4 bulb. so it would kinda seem better to just go with the Ebay cheapo kit? cuz thats what im really starting to lean towards, that is if its a legit kit

Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
Most likely, you'll need to buy the bulbs you want, then the housings that fit your car.
Buy those Hella's (if you want) then buy the bulbs separate. Either from Summit or elsewhere.

Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
those are the same fake ebay "projectors" with black reflectors. probably wont light up the road well since black isn't very good at reflecting light.

Re: Hella Headlight Conversion?
Hella E-Codes conversions are very good lamp housings. I have a set for my Camaro.
I think the only ones that are better are the Cibie E-Codes. I had Cibie conversions on my 2nd Gen.
BTW, why would someone install conversions and run Silverstars? There are better bulb choices out there.
I would fab up an upgraded headlight harness per the tech article here. For H4 bulbs, you'll also have to rewire the plug or buy a ready made conversion plug.
