1990 cd player
I was wondering what stock GM radio with cd player will fit and plug right into my stock harness. I have a 1990 formula 350 I would like to keep the stock look. I know the cd player was an option but my car didn't get it. Will i have to look for a 1990 radio or is their many years and makes of cars i could look for that would fit.

Pretty much any gm delco cd player from 1989-2002 will be plug and play with your harness. Some might need mods to the mounting brackets to bolt up correctly. Both of my irocs have newer cd players from 92-95 buicks

Re: 1990 cd player
Some people, myself included, appreciate what the car was originally, and want to keep it that way or return it that way, I won't get rid of my 20 year old UM7 radio for the same reason. I hate after market head units......gross
Even a radio from a Buick would be worlds better than an after market one

Thank you! I'm glad that someone on this forum agrees with me! When you restore a car, you don't put in a new head unit, you find the original radio that was installed in the car, or one that could have been.

Those original U1A cd radios can be hard to come by and somewhat pricey though.

Yes, that looks good, that looks like its stock to the untrained eye, and I think it looks good, props for keeping the car with stock manufacturer parts and not ugly aftermarket ones!

Re: 1990 cd player
Ive actually had and sold 3 of the 1st gen pontiac cd players.Besides firebirds Ive also found them in grand prix`s of that era.Right now I have a 2nd gen pontiac cd player that came from a 1993 bonneville. Its similar to my picture but the controls are in grey.Just needs to have the cd mechanism fixed
That really is a bare bones radio.I only add factory options to my cars.....Overhead console(86 Iroc) and center console clock(both cars).
