Switched 85 vette from TPI to carb and have some questions

I want to switch my 85 over to a carb ( due to power and financial limits) I have taken the motor out and sent it to the machine shop. I took the ECM with all the harness out.
My problem is i repowered the car and i don't have any dash lights (the instrument panel), Also how do iget the speedo to work ? It has an elec plug that went where i don't know. I have thought about putting all manual guages and don't want to do that.

By the ECM there were 2 plugs that went into the ECM, i know i don't need those but i also unplugged 2 other plugs by the ecm. Maybe i need to power these back ?

Any help would be greatly Appreciated

Also my 700r-4 speedo is an elec plug. Does this go to the ECM or right to the digital dash ?

I also have a 1985 corvette and I will be swapping from tpi to carb next week. As far as your gauges, are you saying that the engine isn't in the car? did you power it up without the sensors plugged in? If the sensors aren't connected to the engine then I doubt they would work. The only thing that your computer should control is your injection, your mpg gauge will not work as that is computed by the computer, also your torque converter lockup won't work because its also computer controlled. Everything else should work. I would plug those other two plugs in. Keep us posted on what happens.

well let me save you some time. KEEP your ECM and harness. Apparently you will get the SES light but everything else will work. I didn't know this so i just took it out and already made a deal on it.

The engine is out and at the shop being rebuilt.

The car will be finished in a month.

Just to let you know I put my carb on and pulled my computer out and TPI harness out and my gauges work fine, oil temp, oil pressure, coolant temp, voltage, speedometer, tach, everything except the mpg conversions (they won't work without tpi). I had to get the harnesses I needed out of the main harness which did have the gauge wires and the tpi harness, maybe you got rid of the wrong ones or something because I traced all the wires i needed and plugged in the 4 harnesses I needed and ran my ground and everything works. The only thing you need is a fan relay setup and wire to your fuel pump to an ignition source. Good luck with your project.

thanks.

I traced all the wires and used an aftermarket guages. I bought a cyberdyne speedo/tach combo from jegs. Their $135 It measures 0-60 time and 1/4 mile time, highest RPM, Highest MPH. I think this will be nice.

I will have the car back up and running by mid DEC. so as long as the streets are clean i'll let everyone know how it works.
