Streetmaster Rochester Quadrajet

What do you guys think about the Streetmaster Rochester Quadrajet from Jet Perfomance Products (The Stage 2 Version)?

Does it go right in the place of the old quadrajet, and hook up to all the computer controls? Is this just a rebuilt quadrajet?

Most of all, what performance gains do you think I will see over the stock quadrajet?

Well, if you look at the pic this is an emission carb but not for the CCC system. I don't see a M/C solanoid.

Jet will modify your CCC carb though, you can contact them for details. Some people say that Jet's work isn't as good after Sean Murphy left to start his own business.

I don't think so. Like I said the pic does not show any M/C solanoid. Call Jet.

The picture doesn't tell the whole story. CCC carbs are available from Jet.

CCC stands for Computer Command Control. It was GM's name for their feedback carb setup. the MCS is the mixture control solenoid, the computer tells it to move the primary metering rods up and down to control the mixture.

if this carb was on an LG4 engine, and it worked fine with the computer, would it work fine with my L69? and if it dosent have a Mixture control solenoid, would i get a check engine light?

If anyone has a pic of the MCS that would be great, thanks.

If it was on a computerized LG4, then it has an MCS and it should work fine on an L69.

Yes, they pretty much all had at least one LG4-equipped model.

Probably. The L69 was tuned a little differently, and some LG4 carbs had restricted AV opening, and L69's didn't.

i would get the proper cfm carb and then tune it to your fuel needs--all engines will not be the same--food for thought

That's the beauty of the q-jet carb. It's the proper size on so many different engines, up to the point you "need" more than 750-800 CFM.

Depends upon the condition and tune of the stock q-jet.

and are these new or just rebuilt to higher specifications?
The latter.

It should be noted though that "parts-store" rebuilt Q-jets are not necessarily (or even normally) rebuilt to the same or higher specifications than stock.
