I been all over the inter webs and can't find out the top speed for my car, so I was wondering if anyone knew? My speedo only goes to 85 and I bury it no problem. I have the 155hp or 165hp variant, I can't remember. And everything is stock...till next week.

what transmission do you have? what gears in the rear end?

i got my 87 lg4 with headers and a 5 speed and 3.23s to 140+ with no problem. (except for stuff starts to shake and you get tunnel vision)

Not sure, everything is stock, so whatever stock gears they are is what mine has, my car starts to shake too, but I've never truly taken it as fast as it can go, I'm In Cali, cops litter the free way.

is your transmission manual or auto? if its auto it most likely has 2.73s unless you have a tpi 350. i think those came with 3.27s

I was about to say the same thing Phoenix. I only attempted to floor it once and that was at night. California freeways are empty after 11pm, so don't try to judge me. And never call a Camaro a POS, stock or not.

Back when I was 17 and my 1987 305h was a year old I had the 85 mph speedo wrapped around to 25 or 30 mph. The car was tight and it seemed to have some more but I eased off the gas and coasted back down to the limit because the cars I was passing looked like they were sitting still. Fun ride but I will never do that again on the street.

I can see being mad at an a-hole who does 100+ in traffic, but when a street is clear as day, no traffic, dead cross sections, depending on the area, I see no problem with it. Just be careful.

Fastest I have been was down I-355 by my house clear sight as far as I can see (20/20 vision), no traffic at all, no cars. I ran my 87 CBR 1000F motorcycle to 165mph before I got that feeling that it was....my limit haha.

On a funny side note....when going 30mph ~ my speedo on my 92 camaro is buried haahha. I need to fix it before I start driving it regularly =).

I tried looking on the internet too and couldn't find anything, sorry buddy!

AAAhhhhh the Ol' Hurricane, Awesome bike in it's day!! The fastest I've gone was on a bike also.....170ish on a buell 1125r "Barracuda".

You think that fast is crazy in a car, it's like wingless flight on a bike!!!!

But back to topic, I am interested to see how fast my bird will go, my plan is to gps it, mine has a max speed readout, so I can just focus on driving then check it when I come out of warp.

you will be surprised how fast this 305's can go properly tuned I've only took mine to 120 but it was really easy to get there

I'm pretty sure that all stock auto TBI cars and trucks shut off at 105 mph. As far as how fast will it go? Depends on a lotta factors. 145 is proabably realistic. My gutted 92 with a built TPI 383, automatic trans and 2.73 gears ran outta guts at 181 mph wide open.

Look at what the factory tires were that came with your car. The car shouldn't allow you to go faster than the rating of the tires it came with oem. Unless it is modified
