Re: FOR SALE 5.3 SHORT BLOCK

Yes, a 5.3 is 325 ci, although the 5.7 lsx and 5.3 are the same block, so the 5.3 can be bored over to 5.7 unlike the 5.0 and 5.7 gm gen 1 blocks. Just as a reference, 1 liter is approximately 61 cubic inches.

what year is the motor, does it have the Lq9 (taller) intake on it? accessories?

Re: FOR SALE 5.3 SHORT BLOCK

Not to thread jack or undercut but I have a set of good 5.3 heads, and a tall truck intake, complete with injectors if someone's interested in them for this short block.

Re: FOR SALE 5.3 SHORT BLOCK

yeah the block is the same the difference is the cylinder sleeve actually. If you want some good info on these motors autozone has a great book on gen 3 motors and possible cam, head intake combos for 20 bucks. But you have to be careful when you bore the motors cause the high density steal sleeve is very thin on an LS1(can only bore about 1mm). So not to jack the thread or bash on the sale just be warry these aren't like older SBCs where u can punch them up to 60 over with out much problem. But with the better angle on the valves you can make a lot more power with fewer cubic inches. And get reasonable fuel milage at the same time.

Re: FOR SALE 5.3 SHORT BLOCK

your right on ls1 blocks BUT lq9 is a truck block and steel which is good for turbo or super charging plus steel blocks are alot stronger than aluminum cousin I'm building an lq9 steel block for turbo just with heads and cam easy 450-500 hp without turbo with a carb on it these new engines are something else compaired to old small blocks new cylinderheads out flow old three times better than a good old style head
