Hi , i got 2 borg werner T5's....one 26 spline for a V8 camaro firebird and another 14 spline for a V6 camaro firebird....as you know both these can be installed on a V6 or V8 motor...make offers.

Hey, you said make an offer and I did. Someone else asked how much and I even asked what else comes with it. If it is just the transmission and no bellhousing, no shifter, and nothing else then I wouldn't pay any more for it. Can you atleast answer my question before you shoot me down? Or atleast give us an idea as to how much you want?

$200 for a world class T5 is not what i think is a fair price,,,i think more like $400 would be fair ,,,there are some on ebay at $500 with nothing but the trans..

Hey man, whatever, its cool. You shoot me down after you ask a price so its your loss. If you had everything that I wanted so that I could easily do my swap I would have paid you 700 dollars but you seem to only think of the dollar value first. Is there a reason your being so difficult to work with?

I would love to buy it but from the added price of shipping from Canada to PA it might be a little steep but how much are ypu really looking to get. If the price with shipping is $700 or less I will buy it but I cannot go any higher than that.

Just to give some perspective, I paid $350 for a V8 T5, including:

Tranny
Bellousing
Clutch Fork
Slave Cylinder
Shifter
ES Trans Mount
...and Centerforce clutch/pp

that's a great deal you got, only a good clutch kit will cost well over $200+..but if you got lucky ,,doesn't mean we all will get what you got at that price..there aren't many deals like that around and considering that these trannies are 25+ years old,,,camaro -firebirds 82-92 were pratically 80% automatics...these T5 trannies in good working condition are becoming extinct...just my 2 cents..

Had you posted that to begin with you probably would have sold it by now. I agree with others. I wouldn't want to deal with a guy like you for any price. the mods should have deleted this for now price in the ad.

Mine is a W/C T5 as well.

$400 for the setup is reasonable, complete setup; maybe minus pedals some some misc hydraulics.

The simple fact is this: Ebay is for suckers; Ebay doesn't have any real deals anymore because its too mainstream. Ebay caters to those that "want it now" or aren't willing to search elsewhere for it. You pay higher prices for these conveniences. To silence everyone who disagrees with your logic, post them damn thing on Ebay and get the claimed $500.

You simply can't get "ebay pricing" here on TGO. We are all enthusiasts, and know what the "real world going rates" are.

Personally, for $500 you should get at LEAST the entire T5, w/ bellhousing, and probably some extras such as fork, boot...

When you think about it; Its not the T5 tranny itself that costs so much after its all said and done. Its everything combined:

Flywheel
Clutch / Pressure Plate
5spd starter
Master Cyl
Slave Cyl
Hydraulic line
Pedal Assembly
VSS (if the donor isn't the right one)
Fork/Boot
Lower Shifter Boot
Throwout Bearing
Torque Arm Mount for T5 (the real unicorn of the swap)

In the end, it really is the tranny itself which should be the cheapest part of this entire swap, because its all the other stuff that will nickel and dime you to death on a T5 swap.

My $.02 - If you want it sold, as a bare T5 with no extras, its literally only worth maybe $250-$300 at MOST here. If you think you can get more elsewhere, try it, because its just not gonna net more than that by itself here. The $700 setups you see selling here are typically complete, everything-you-need swap setups.
