Does the GM Performance Parts basic Vortec 330HP 350ci have a timing tab?

Its the crate without the harmonic damper with it. I was looking at the pics of it and I cant see the timing tab on the timing chain cover....does it come with one? If it doesnt, how do you set the timing?

So does it have to be in a specific spot or can you by any timing pointer undo one of the timing chain cover bolts and bolt the pointer on and it will be in the right spot? I thought that the position was specific to the engine? Or is it the damper that is specific? There are no special tools like degree wheels or the such to install the timing marker in the correct spot right?
