L67 swap (slow progress)

Car: 1984 Camaro berlinetta
Engine: LG4 305
Transmission: 700-R4
Axle/Gears: 3.08 open diff
L67 swap (slow progress)
well this is the sole reason i bought the 84 z wanted a lighter RWD plateform to put my engine in to and the camaro was the cheapest i could find ($400)
specs on the engine as it sits in my 2001 Grand Prix GT (it's not really a L67 it's a L36 that i put the M90 on)
L36 bottom end (9.4:1 compretion stock L67 is 8.5:1)
ZZPs XP cam
stock L67 top end
3.4" supercharger pulley (stock is 3.8")
headers but will get diffrent ones wen it goes into the camaro
back when it still was hampered with the stock exhuast manifolds at dynoed 261 WHP and ran a 12.99 at 107 mph in a FWD car that weighed 3400 lbs.
here is a list of parts i know i will need
700-R4 from a iron duke or 60* V6 (ie 2.8, 3.1)
engine mounts
most likely a longer drive shaft
electric fan
a wiring harness for the engine OBD II or OBD 1 with a ostrich tuner
headers propbaly will get the pacesetters for the 4th gen L36 cars
now the questions any one have a pic of how close the back of the engine is to the fire wall on a V6 car? i am sure i will have to move the engine forward but not sure by how much (need to bend th TB around or cut a hole in the fire wall) also any links to obd II swaps? i looked but did not come up with much

definitely subscribing to this thread. i had thought about doing something like this when i still had my 97 gtp, but gave up and went with the lsx swap. Will be glad to see someone pull this off

some more info i have gotten there is plenty of room to bend the TB around with out having to move the engine forward
4th gen mid langth 3800 headers should fit (planning on duals with a X over that dumps before the rear axle and borla XS mufflers)
also seeing as my car has a carb i will need to get a fuel system from a TPI car (including the tank or just not let it drop below 1/4 tank) seeing as a TPI car makes 50 psi and flows roughly the same gallons per minute as the pump in the GP i should be fine if not i can upgrade later.
next thing is to see if i can use 4th gen engine mounts if i can this will be almost bolt in besides the wiring really looking at OBD II that will be the hardest part of this hole deal

not a big update but i did find some good info on the PCM.
the only ones that will work with out the BCM or VATS is 97-99.
97 is an odd ball year it has a large external knock sensor modual other then that not that big of an issue
98 was the same as a 97 but has an integral knock sensor controle
99 this is when GM changed some things. if you use a 99 PCM and want to use a stock TB it would have to be one from a 99+ L67
all three use a dual speed fuel pump but there are kits to iliminate the fuel pump resister that switches the speeds so you can use a single speed pump
if you use a stock TB i would pick the 99 PCM and wiring harness the 99 has a better flowing TB and more accurite MAF.

Forget the cam and the pulley, you don't have the L67 pistons in your L36. The difference is dramatic. Less critical but equally different are the L67 rods and crank. Forget the 700R-4, a bit of PCM tuning will let the L36 think a 4L60e is the L36's 4T60E or the L67's 4T60E-HD Then you can get a 4L60E from any '96-'02 L36 Camaro / Firebird, which is also what you'll order your headers for.
