lower control arms
I was thinking about boxing in my lower control arms to give them more strength. I know they make tubular ones but those are like $160. I didint know if anyone has tried this and if it would make much of a difference. Let me know what you guys think.

I can't remember off the top of my head(we did it about 3-4 years ago)
I'm sure as long as it is thick as the control arm(1/6th maybe) or thicker it will be fine.
Cut a strip of steel and weld it over top. Make sure to paint it once you are done to prevent rust on the welded areas.

Check out "UMI-Performance-Inc" on EBAY. They sell almost every bolt on upgrade suspension part you might need for your F-body. They have some very reasonable deals. I saw that they were selling a pan hard bar/Trailing arm set for $184.00

How come nobody makes upper and lower control arms for 82-92 F-Body? I heard of a company many years ago making them but I have never come across any.

a little comparison for you. i have a set of stock lower control arms that are welded up, have yet to put them on tho.

Man spend the money and pickup a set of lower control arms from spohn and a set of lower control arm relocation brackets...we put those on my buddys 97 z that was havin trouble with wheel hop and o man does that baby hook now...best 200 bucks hes spent on that car so far

nobody makes an upper control arm for the '82-'92 f-body because they don't have an upper control arm.
as far as lower front, i have seen a couple of sets that were tubular. here is a set from spohn:

I made these, very simple bought some flat bar from Lowes and tacked it on, had to use c-clamps and work the shape to fit as i tacked it together.

Note also, the factory uses rubber, the after market ones use much harder poly bushings...
I bought some off ebay for $100 or less...
Get adjustable ones if you plan to lower your car, greaseable is always good too...
I've done a bunch of upgrades to my car, LCA's, Panhard bar, poly sway bar end links, subframe connectors, stb, wonder bar, etc... Car feels much better and different than the tired stock suspension.

Yea, lakewoods are fine, and run what, $90 brand new with poly bushings? I paid $60 just for the poly bushings, then paid a guy $22 to press them in, then boxed mine myself.

Actually where the spring sits in the front is the k-member.
it's called the upper strut mount. they do make these aftermarket as well as factory style. here is spohn's factory style:
