I have a 1986 Iroc-z and on the exterior door handels it says limited edition.
Does anybody know what this means?

Yes, you have Limited Edition door handles. Never heard of Limited Edition IROC-Z

The only limited edition 1986 camaro was the ct-350(celebration connecticuts 350th aniversery)

Those "Limited Edition" door handle inserts have been sold by Auto Zone, Wal-Mart and JC Whitney for years. They are definitely not factory.

There were a few factory inserts for Third-Gen door handles, though. The Recaro Trans Am had "RECARO T/A" for example. I believe some FI cars also got inserts that said "Fuel Injection."

Known Door Handle Decals:
- Fuel Injection - 1982-1987 Firebirds with (you guessed it) Fuel Injection, it did not matter what engine, I4, V6, LB9
- RECARO, Obviously were installed on Recaro Firebirds...

To my knowledge there were no camaros with the inserts... could be wrong.

There was a Red RS camaro at my school, 91 or 92 and it had Camaro door handle inserts. It was owned by a girl so i doubt she put them on.

I belive you could buy "Camaro" inserts up until a few yeras ago from Autozone, Murrays or the like...

Of course I remember about 15 years ago I could buy Brand new Fuel Injection inserts and IIRC they looked identical to the OE ones... It was in the day when Fuel Injection was the big new thing, I remember a friend of mine put on his 1977 Volarie a "Turbo" and "Fuel Injection" Chrome emblems on his back stationwagon Door...
