how many 91 GTA's were made?
What is the offical number of GTA's made in 91
Compnine 2864
TGO 2915
GTA source page 2035 plus 483 Canadian
GTA source page said this is the offical number. All three are good resources but they have different numbers.

I would expect the number of cars made be the same between the 3 resources. I understand they are not trying to provide wrong info but atleast 2 of them possibly all 3 are wrong. Did they guess how many they thought were made? Who would you trust?

Frankie from GTA Source page, from my understanding, got into the GM archives and was able to count RPOs. I have no idea where TGO got it's numbers. Compnine was based off of what RPOs they have in their database.
I personally trust the GTA source page, but I find it odd that compnine is higher.

I'm pretty sure Frankie's info is the same as what PHS would have.
It is very interesting that Compnine shows more. It would be like doing a Carfax query and seeing how many VIN's for a certain year model have ever been registered in say the U.S. If they have RPO records for that many cars, I'm going to say there are that many cars, unless they are typos or errors in their database. But hell, Compnine says my car is 1 of 1 and that there were only 28 1992 Firebirds total even made with grey leather so who knows how accurate it is.
As for what GM/PHS/GTAsourcepage can offer, I would want to see VIN sequences or all the VINs to do a better accurate count rather than just take the Generals word for it as this point.
I have a database dump of all 1992 Firebird VINs that okfoz did for me and TransAmGTA.com many years ago. It was very interesting to sort through and count to say the least. If I recall, it was all U.S. registered VINs ever.

For example of the 1988 GTA's made with LB9/5-speeds, Frankie's page lists 809 (if I remember correctly) - but that is US production only! For my 1988 GTA (LB9/5 speed), my package from GM Canada lists 1830 Trans Am's for sale in Canada, 850 with CC1, 785 with LB9, 378 with MM5 and 1,261 with Y84 (GTA). Play the percentage game of T/A vs GTA (based on US ratios) for LB9/5 speed (and CC1) and perhaps 160 extra show up.
Also just for info, all of my Canadian cars show up in the Compnine database but I always get build unknown and no idea of how many produced.
