O'reilly's Racing Seats

Hello, I'm contemplating buying a pair of racing seats from O'reilly Auto Parts (I know, they're terrible but the seats look nice and I dont wanna pay for shipping lol). I was wondering if anyone has ever installed them in a thirdgen camaro and if they did, was the fitment just bolt in or would I need to buy some type of adapter.

Thanks in advance

Re: O'reilly's Racing Seats

the hard part
do they sell seat brackets to install them in the 82/92 camaros?

if not.
then you have to make some..

start by looking at the bottom of the aftermarket seats you want to buy.

see the bolt holes. are they on the bottom. or bottom side of the seats.

what are they spaced at front to back. side to side.

how tall you are makes things easy or hard. under 5'10" easy.
over 6'4" a bit harder using factry camaro seat rails. but it can be done.

the other thing you can use is the Feiro (spelling) seat rails. they fit and they are Low! in the back half.

note the pasngr side seat rails are low in the front. lower then the driver side. have used 2 sets of pasngr side seat rails before. to get aftermarket seats sitting low for us over 6'3" guys.
(yes cut the legs in half and swap driver lower leg halfs )for this set up.

now you have some info to look at. go look at the seat. take a tape with you. and see what they have for bolt holes

then PM me and ill help you come up with somthing before you buy. that way you have a game plan.. i also did a full work up of aftermarket seat install. this will give you a better game plan.
you can look it up going over some of my old post.. hope this helps

also doing a work up for installing a new set of recaros in my camaro now and taking out the brand new seats i just installed..lol will do a full post on it also.

Re: O'reilly's Racing Seats

I looked at those seats and if I remember correctly they are two wide. The hole unit not just the rails. Measure the width of the bottom and double check. I could be wrong .

Re: O'reilly's Racing Seats

Awesome, thanks for the replies guys.

arcticwhitez, I was really hoping to not have to do any kind of mods like that and hoping they'd bolt right in, but I suppose if I have to I'll do that. Do you by any chance know of seats that WILL bolt in fairly easy? I'm 5'9" by the way if the helps. I'm just afraid that I'll get the seats, and go to put them in and have something go wrong as I'm not the best with retrofitting things like this. And I really want it to look as professional as possible.

Either way, I'll go to O'reillys sometime this week and measure out everything, then report back.

Re: O'reilly's Racing Seats

iv looked at a few makes of aftermarket seats.
and one thing to look at is the Mounting bolt holes.

has you will start to see. most of the time a few are with in a inch of ea other + or - front and back holes and easy to mach up. to the stock GM rails.

by knowing what the bolt holes are at. you can also shop other makers seat rails and ask.what they have for your car. then do a match up. = knowing who makes the aftermarket rails that will fit your new seats.

or a set of rails you can drill to fit your new seats.

its easy to do. but will take a day of your time just getting info

Awesome! Bet I've seen your car around here at some time or another.

How do you like the 4th gen seats? and were they easy to install?

Re: O'reilly's Racing Seats

I bet you have seen it around too, especially if you live on or near fort Richardson. I haven't got the chance of trying the new seats bc i park it for the winters and I'm in the middle of my motor swap. The 4th gen seats are a direct bolt in.

Re: O'reilly's Racing Seats

Any update on the O'Reilly seats? Saw them today and they looked interesting. I'll measure the stuff this weekend and report back with my findings, if no one else has...

Totally, dude. They're so wide. No way they're going to fit in a thirdgen.
