HOW MUCH $$$$ for LS1 swap????
Thinking of doing an LS1 swap in my 87 Iroc, I already have the LS1 motor and trans with wiring and ECU. Without the labor cost, I'm wondering how much cash I'd have to put out for parts and accessories, complete price from guys that have done this swap already. I have the know how and the shop just wondering if it's with what I'd like to spend, and yes I do watch everything I spend........So LS1 or 5.3 Swappers Chime in.

Don't most generic shops charge by their labor hour charge? Try giving local shops a call and ask for info, it would be 100x better than getting quotes from on here since peoples prices here would not reflect to every shop.

We'd be doing the labor ourselves, I'm looking for a price on which guys have spent on parts, minus engine and trans...........

Re: HOW MUCH $$$$ for LS1 swap????
Make a list of everything that needs to be swapped, breaking down each subsystem
Mounts
Fuel
Wiring
Exhaust
etc
After all the necessities are accounted for, add in the mods you want to bolt on. Thats usually the big spender on swaps
My very budget oriented 5.3/4L60E swap came in just under $2000 out the door. Everything is stock or DIY. Necessary parts were purchased used. My total after a few months of driving has gone up from various used parts failing. Most swaps are $6-8k though
