Dude that is awsome looking! So how much power will that thing have when you have it all done up? I'm guessing at least 700hp!

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
Turbos are turbonectics 62mm ball bearing motor is a 383 built for a beating. The motor made a click over 500hp n/a with just under 8:1compression. All said and done she'll make over a 1000hp to the wheels. I hoping it will be closer to 1200 but ill be happy any where in the 4 digits. She get strapped down to the rollers on the 12th and 13th of this month so ill have solid numbers then. As for the the intercooler, I had it custom made by bell intercoolers

First of....You hacked up a notchback GTA... They aren't special. Fewer #s built? Yes. Special? No
How'd you get the pressure tube of the intake through the radiator wall there? Did you mount the radiator lower? To make room for the pressure tube.

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
The upper rad support was notched out for the discharge tube and the lower rad support was completely cut out to allow the rad to be dropped abit. And by abit i mean alot.

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
No this thing is being built to be a street car. It has no specific purpose other than to scare the crap outta people including myself. the nose piece is goin to be left as stock looking as possible so for now im just gonna be working the under side to see how i can direct more air to the cooler. All said and done i want people to walk by this thing in a parking lot and think nothing of it but break there neck from the oppsite side of the same lot after she fires up. lol Car will be as stock looking as possible minus the obvious things.
The motoring gonna be run on pump gas with meth injection so im not really concerned with the cooling effects of the intercooler as the meth will do the same job.

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
I love the car and all. The setup looks beautiful but I dont think you want 1000+ for the street. Have you ever owned a car with 1000hp+?? Most guys i read about on other such tech forums I think would agree that 1000hp is not for the street.
I guess with turbos you can just dial down the boost and run it lower. I had the same idea as you though, i wanted 1000+ hp and would just use a boost controller to settle things down on the street. Now that im thinking about being more practical and what i really want to use my car for (road race and race courses) I think im just gonna settle for a measly 700 rwhp at full power.
Not to bring you down or anything, what your saying is capable and you are way ahead of me but I see a lot of ppl looking down at comments like "1000hp for the streets"

what fuel tank are you running with the dual pumps. is it a stock sumped tank. and do you have any pics. thanks.
im shooting for 1000 whp as well. and mine is a street car too. but so is my s10 and its running 9.993 at 135

Did you fab up that intake tube from the intercooler to the TB yourself? Where did you get the rubber couplings? What size?

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
Turbo engines are all low compression #s. The pressure of 20+ lb of boost is where the HP comes from. Start with 11 to 1 & 2-+ lbs of boost, & say goodbye to your heads. Doubtful it would even start.

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
Wow. I never realized it had ever been done.
But on a black car, it's still hard to make out exactly HOW it was done. Simple rectangle vs following the hood crease lines?
So...I took care of making it easier to see.....

I was thinking of doing the same on my front, not sure if it will look good on any other color than black? But I have to find a spare front to cut up first.
I have more pictures of the Polly car at home, maybe the cutout is "clearer" on one of thoose I can take a look if you like?

i agree......11:1 or 8:1 doesnt matter on start up......it only matters when you have 20+lbs of boost on top of that piston. You CAN make a motor live with 11:1 and 20lbs of boost.....just not on 93 octane.

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
Some great craftsmanship and many of hours of planning have been put into this project and it shows.
Quick Q, though... What Thermostat housing is that? I also have an HSR w/58mm and I have been looking for a swivel type housing that will fit under the TB. All the ones i have found are too tall and run into the IAC housing. My IC tubing runs directly in front of the stock stat housing outlet forcing me to angle towards the passenger side instead of the drivers side. TIA!

Re: Twin turbo progress pics
you could run 13:1 with a turbo but it would be on c16, alcohol, or e85 ethonol and very low boost arround 7lbs. the reason turbo motors run such low compressin is only and i mean only to run more boost. reason being. a NA motor can make about 30 hp max per comp point. a turbo motor under boost to match the same compression will make arround 50hp. so for every extra lb of compression we build with boost is almost 20 more hp over na. thats why a 4cyl can make v8 power and a sbc can make built to the hilt bbc numbers. without crazy heads and one off parts. mine is 8.4:1 and im plannin on starting off at 15lbs with my t88 on e85
