86-95 still use that same old design with the maroon state of TX. 96 and newer use the light brown color sticker with the cowbow walking. And the safety only sticker is light brown with a cowboy riding a bull. hope this helps.

Re: what does your texas inspection sticker look like

found out today that stickers can be used for two years.the shop needs to go thru their booklets first. so last years sticker with the maroon texas sign is good for thisyear to. got this info from a state inspector today.

The only stickers good for two years are the ones de dealership puts on brand new cars coming out from the showroom, for example a 2010 camaro would have a sticker which expires in 2012, unles it's a 2010 model but it was sold in 2009 it would have a sticker which expires in 2011.

The sticker with the TX state used on OBD-1 cars will be around for a while....Each sticker has a number and has to be put in order one by one so they haven't run out of them yet like they did with the OBD-2 cars that's why they had to change the design.

Re: what does your texas inspection sticker look like

no didnt mean it is good for two years on the car. inspection stations have to use up their old stickers before they start their new ones. the stickers themselves can be used for two years.

Re: what does your texas inspection sticker look like

Oddly enough one of my neighbours with a new Mercedes has a white inspection sticker with the maroon TX shape on her car. I know it's fairly new because she had the purple 2 year "new car" sticker on it last year.

I wish Harris country still offered 3 year registration stickers. I do the 2 year stickers now (saves around 30%)

Counter fit! LOL It is weird, it's supposed to have the light brown one...unless some station kept a book with the old design for OBD-2 cars.

BTW, You know you have a counter fit sticker when after a few weeks it starts peeling off from behind, or it says OBD-2 and it's on an 80's model Beware.

it is not counterfit. the stations have to go thru thier booklet of stickers before they get to the new ones. had a cop tell me so today. it is legit.

Re: what does your texas inspection sticker look like

i've seen them come through the shop with the asm stickers on obd2 cars, and have yet to get a good answer from anyone about why. when you scan them to do the new inspection all the correct info comes up so they are legit.

and to answer the original question, its the cowboy riding the bull.
