The TPS tells the computer where the gas petal is so it can give the right amount of fuel. Does your car cut out? WHen you change the position of the pedal does it come back? From what I have heard it works by a voltage. Not sure how to check it, or how much it puts out.

At a pedal position does your car cut out? Any? The TPS car develope dead spots. Or it will not start at all. Even at start up if it doesn't unless you give it a little gas, that could also be the TPS.

Dead Spots
You will also get dead spots in your acceleration....
You push your foot on the pedal, and partway down you may experience your engine cutting out, or huge hesistation at some point. Not very much fun.

Also, the car will "surge" when it's sitting at idle like at a light. It's not very fun to have the brake lightly pressed and have the car lunge forward almost rear ending the person in front of you.

it sences the throttle angle by voltage hence throttle position sensor.(tps) u can check the voltage by probing the conector and using a volt meter.I dont remeber correct voltage of the top of my head , is it .45 someone will know im to lazy to go look.make sure the voltage changes acording to the trottle angle of the trottle blade.

To test put volt meter probes into connecton on tps. In the closed position you should see .56 volts +/- .07 volts. In the wide open throttle position you should see a reading above 4 volts. In between should be smooth rise to 4 volts with no dead spots. Do the test with the ignition on but the engine off. Hope this helps.

TPS issues
I had BOOKOO problems with my TPS on my NEW Holley. I kept fiddling and fiddling with it, nothing worked right. I had to replace it and everything worked right.
Just letting you guys know even if a TPS is new, doesn't mean it's not the problem.
