Which ECM 1993 Caprice Cop Car?
I just got a 1993 Chevy Caprice X Cop Car 5.7 liter TBI and was wondering what ECM it had?
Also would a 454 TBI help on the small block?
What's the difference between the 305 and 350 TBI? (for another project)

In 1992 the Caprice went to a 161xxxxx number but its a similar ECM to the 1228746. I don't know if GM just changed the number or if it's completely different like the trucks when they changed in 92 as well.

Haven't had time to look at the ECM let alone the knock sensor hole.
I thought it would be a clear cut answer here but there seems to be some controversy as to which ECM it is so I will have to dig in and take a look.

I believe the 93 Caprice uses this: 16136965
Different Tunercat definition file ($62 vs 8746 which is $61)

Car: Yes

Transmission: Quite a few
Yes, the 93 caprices use that ecm, which has a different definition file from the 8746. I just got a new def. file from tunercat, which enables the manual/auto logic, so you can run the cop car calibration with a manual now.......

I didn't know 93 was any different than 92, learned something new. Why would GM change if they already knew they had the Lt1 as the next powerplant for the caprice? GM is crazy like that, too many darn calibrations hardwired to the C3 and C4 ecms!

Well...it may be that 91-93 Caprices (TBI B-Bodies) used the 6965 and the only Caprices that got the 8746 were the 89-90. That would at least make more sense.
