Re: 1.6 Roller Rocker ????

Dude, where you at?
Haven't seen you at the gas shop since it re-opened. PM me...

Most of the aftermarket 1.6 rollers are to wide for the stock center-bolt
head-covers -- the oil breather won't fit in between them.
I wound up going with some Crane's that are specifically for these GM heads.
And they were, as you might guess, price-ier than e-bay bargains.
Also the push-rod length is a bit different (shorter if I recall) to keep the
roller properly centered over the valve. Off-center will cause excessive
side-wear on the valve guides. At least thats the theory.

I'm pretty close to getting mine running -- when I get back in town soon.

Re: 1.6 Roller Rocker ????

i will be using comp cams 12-364-4 cam with 1.6 self aligning magnum roller rockers and magnum lifters and push rods. there will be clearance issues so i will need to machine the heads. if your using the stock cam then u should be fine if not you may need to mod your heads.

Have Comps version, the clearance problem is in the hole in the head where the push rod goes thru...Am at a different Gas Shop, same Company..Hurricane Ike took my job out at the old place...
