seized lock

how do u unseize a door lock my driverside is frozen but not from cold.

Penetrating oil. Use the little red spout and spray it in the key hole, repeat. Try to spray on the backside of it too.

If that doesnt work you might see if something is jamming it. And last time i checked it wasn't very expensive to replace the locks. Not very hard either.

I had a similiar problem on the pass side. The lock itself had corroded. Replacement was necessary. Since, I've used a product called, I believe, Lock-Ease. No problems. If it comes to replacement, while you're in the door, you might consider cleaning and lubing (with WD-40 and white grease) the power lock mechanisms and window tracks. Also, check for the rubber bump stops at the window track's bottom. They're probably lying uselessly at the bottom of the door. If you have door noise, check a thread of mine called "Pics and Observations' or something like that. Might help.

Let's see... It was about 4°F in Chitown this morning. You really don't want oil in any of your lock cylinders. Once you get the lock freed, you might want to flush out all the oil you can with alcohol and apply dry graphite (the factory lubricant) so the locks operate easily in any weather.
