Has anyone tried the CAT LRH-350B retrofit roller LIFTERS?
As the topic says, has anyone tried these, or know if they are any good?
For $154.56 from pace, they sure are cheap.

Edited for stupidity: these are lifters not rockers

never tried them or heard of them before....I'd be abit cauisous getting them, that price seems REALLY low, just keep in mind you get what you pay for.

While they are tremendously cheaper than other retrofit kits, and I think we can assume where they are made, my question is this: should adding a bar to link two lifters together double, or even triple the price of the lifters alone?

One time I was looking for product info on CAT stuff and I was given a number for one of their reps. When I tried talking to the guy he barely spoke english.
I started having flashbacks to the time I bought a Chinese screwdriver set and they looked nice, but the tips got chewed up after like 3 uses.
I still have them to this day. I use them for opening paint cans.
At least they were cheap.
I've decided that I'd let someone else be the guy who road tests CAT parts.
On a positive note, the stores that sell CAT rods and cranks say they have a good record. So apparently Chinese metallurgy has made some progress since I bought those screwdrivers.
But I'm still hesitant about things like roller bearings.
Some factory hyd roller lifters from Autocenter were $120/set, the last time I checked.

Well then be worried because you may own a car or two with chinese parts in it already.

Heres the kicker
How are all those Eagle and Scat cranks and rods holding up since they are chinese too.

Heres the kicker
GM expects to boost parts purchases in China to US$4 billion in 2009 from US$200 million in 2003, according to Merrill Lynch, while Ford expects annual purchases in China to reach US$6 billion by 2010, or 7-10 percent of its global requirements. Chinese exporters mainly make components for the aftermarket but are increasingly eager to enter into the higher-end original equipment-manufacturing (OEM) sector.

These are on ebay. I didnt see any part # for the big block version like these in the Cat catalog. Funny because I have seen other manufactures sell retro roller lifters for both small block and big block with same dimensions. Im not to faniliar with big block lifter dimensions.

I think what they're selling probably resembles the second picture, but it looks like they snatched that image from Summit, so who knows what the actual lifters they're selling look like.

Solid rollers for $100 ?! If they are any good, I might have to get a set!
