What holds my crank pulley on a 1968 327?
I have a 1968 327 I am putting together and ran into (another) issue.
The balancer/crank pulley assembly on the stock 305 had a long bolt through the center that held it all to the crank.. the 327 has no bolt hole on the end of the crank, just a key. This motor is internally balanced (no balancer)
, and just has a plate which has holes to attach the pulley. Am I missing something? What keeps the crank pulley from vibrating of the front of the crank?
thanks!

It doesn't matter if it's internally or externally balanced, the engine still has a "balancer", more properly called a harmonic dampener.
Friction keeps the balancer from coming off, there's an interference fit between the balancer and the crank snout.

Also consider getting a balancer for the engine. Just be sure that the timing mark is properly located for the timing tab being used. And that it is a neutral balanced unit (non-400).

Yes the motor does have a balancer. Unless it didn't have one when you bought it, but it most definitely should have one. When installing it, you might want to go ahead and install it on the crank before you do anything with bearings. It is a PRESS fit. Took quite a few swings with a deadblow to get it on far enough for the balancer bolt threads to catch and pull it on the rest of the way.
I had to just drill and tap mine for the balancer bolt. Everyone thought I was crazy when I told them the crank was not drilled/tapped for the bolt. I was able to just drill it out and tap by hand. Just take your time and make darn sure you are drilling and tapping straight.
If I remember correctly they did not start using balancer bolts on any SBC until 1969. I had to do some searching for a few hours before I found that. You can just press it on, but the peace of mind with the bolt is nice.
