oil pressure high (pushes out dipstick)
oil pressure high. will push the dipstick out and push oil out under throttle. gage reads 60 (pegged out) and will drop slightly about 55 at the least after about 15 mins of driving. 355 just rebuilt about 3,000 milels ago. any ideas how to solve this?
dont write "replace sending unit" "change oil" or "run diffrent weight"

Re: oil pressure high (pushes out dipstick)
Oil dipstick blowing out is not related to an oil pressure problem. It happens when there is too much air pressure inside the block, usually caused by excessive blowby (combustion pressure and gasses escaping the cylinder past the piston rings).
Did you remove your PCV recently? Did you ever have one on that engine to begin with? Removing that has been known to cause problems like this. Without it, the engine is not able to evacuate the block of internal fumes adequately and causes a pressure buildup, which is often a cause of oil leaks and cause cause the dipstick to blow out under some conditions.

too much crankcase pressure will push out the dipstick and usually the seals on the intake .You need to run the PCV and a breather .

Re: oil pressure high (pushes out dipstick)
i tried to only have a line go from my valve cover to my carb and that resulted in oil leaking from the dipstick.. there's no other place for pressure to go but out the dipstick..
you either have a clogged PCV, no PCV/breather setup, piston rings are gone or head gasket blew out into lifter valley.. i'd check the PCV first though..

Do you have your PCV hooked up? If not, then you need to do so. If you do have one, then your engine has too much blow by.

i checked, pcv is there. it rattles ( i was told this means its good). but the charcol canister is missing with the line that attaches to it just sitting there, you can feel it sucking vacuum. i did not build the motor but the former owner who built it to run nitrous. he worked at gm goodwrench as a mechanic i assumed it was built right. it seems to run strong it will run with the ls1 camaros i raced three and two ran as fast as me and 1 slightly pulled on me (this is on the german autobahn). it has great lower end aceleration but seems to lay down on top end. the motor seems like it should have a lot more left in it. the local tunner (guy who works on his car the most) says that it needs retuned because it has a "nitrous tune" on it. seems to run really rich, you can smell the gas in the exuast.
