LT4 HOT CAM DO I NEED BIGGER CAM

IVE HAD PEOPLE TELL ME ID GET MORE POWER WITH A BIGGER CAM.I HAVE NO PLOBLEM GETTING ONE,BUT I DONT WANT TO SACRIFICE STREETABLITY.I HAVE GREAT THOTTLE RESPONCE,LOW END TORQUE.I DONY KNOW WHAT CAMS WOULD BE BETTER PLEASE TELL ME. 87IROC,355 SBC,SEALED POWER FLAT TOP SHIRT SKIRT PISTONS,LT4 HOT CAM-218IN-228EX@.50---525-525 LIFT,112 lobe,PROCOMP 190CC HEADS.SPINGS ARE 130LB SEAT-400LB OPEN,IDLE-5500 INTAKE,SUMMIT 600CFM CARB,CARB IS RE-JETTED,AND HAS 50CC ACCELERATOR PUMP.WHAT DO U THINK?

That's the "Bigger is Better" way of thinking at work. Whether you REALLY need more cam or not boils down to what your plans are for the car. First, decide on how the car will most often be used, then decided.

Much more cam than what you have will begin to introduce some negative side effects, like worsened idle quality, reduced gas mileage, lower vacuum (which can effect the power brakes) etc.
