sorry to leave out so much detail but I had tried to post it once before and I lost lots of key board work because it did'nt post first time so I kept it short, but No not a single piston, just hoping the OEM was close to the 580 gram set that I have already paid for, you see I have this 1182 forged GM crank, I have found little info on it other than it came in some 1969 ss 350 engines, I dont know how long the made it, maybe thru 86 I dont know, all I know for sure is this one was removed from a 350 that was in a C-60 2 ton truck, year unknown,it was removed by another person some years back, I have machine shop telling me it needs turning 10/10 before is balanced, it does not need turning at all, I have just what I want oil clearance wise.002/.002 oil clearance with the help of some .001 and .002 oversized bearings that I already paid for, I would be wasting a hundred bucks I spent on the bearings then wasting another 100 bucks removing .008 of my nitrided steel,maybe he wants to trade me for and 1182 already turned 10/10 that he has laying around in his shop, who knows??, I just wanted it balanced to my bob weight, if I can't have him balance it without turning it, then it just wont be balanced, keep in mind I'm not trying some crazy **** like puting a 267 crank in a 350, just on here trying to get some 350 OEM bob weights or just oem piston and rod weights, I think all GM had for years was there same old forged rods, some had x;s cast in the caps, some with O's stamped up by the pin, and some with a splash of pink paint, every one that I have seen was around 580 if polished and 605 grams if just removed from 350, I dont know what 305 rods weighed, probly the same rod, it would be hard to make a rod any cheaper so probly all real close forgings, I have no way of knowing for sure that this particular 1182 crank came new in the HD 2 ton truck, I just know that it did come out of C-60 and that all new C-60 350's came with steel cranks, and according to some web sites theres a PN 391182 that shows up as a replacement crank, 1182 is only number forged into this crank, and letters GMT on other end, maybe general motors truck, or georiga mountin time, who know? kind like why the shop wants to turn my crank, I just dont know, thanks again,

anyone know any info on the PM rod with GM part #10108688, I found a set of PM rods used for 100.00 but the pic of rods does not look like the pic on summit site, and the part # say's it's a GM performance PM rod rated to 550HP and 6500rpm, summit's picture shows a rod with balancing pads, guys pic has no pads, is it the guys pic wrong or part number wrong, he has a few sets I guess it a salvage yard,are all PM rod fractured cap?

Balancing it has nothing to do with turning it. If it needs turning, it's because of the condition.

Thanks for the headss up Apeiron but if you would read the post, you would not be confused about my being confused and plainly see that my crank does not need turning, in this situation the turning of my crank is based on the economics of the machine shop, not everyone that post a simple question on this fourm needs engine building 101, now what I'm looking for is OEM bobweights, some cast piston weights, and things like the weight of PM rods with fractured cap as oppossed to the weight of PM rods with the machined cap, things like the years they where produced and engines they came in, I'm not A dumb**** that buys into the BS that you need balance the crank on a daily driver when changing rods and pistons even if replaced with OEM weight componets, GM balanced it 30 years ago and that good enough for me, now anyone have any OEM rod and piston weights?

GM didn't balance it the way you would at a shop. They weighed components as they came off the line, sorted them into bins of compatible weights, and when there were enough in a bin to build an engine, they did. There isn't a single spec for bob weight.

Afirmitive on A true GM calculated bob weight, but I'm just looking for oem piston and rod weights, I've done this too many times on BBC truck engines and only time I have ever had a problem was a 366 block and pistons with 454 crankshaft, now some have told me that a PM rod is an oem compatible replacement for plain stock forged rod when replacing just 1 rod, when bobweight is calculat'ed some want a 2% over balanced for higher RPM then another engine builder wants a 2% under balance for lower RPM tourque engine, thats 80 gram varible on balanced rotating assemblies, lugging a engine under a load @2200 RPM pulling a trailer up hill adds 3 times the pressure too the reciprecating weight on the power stroke that the same engine would have without the trailer crusing down the interstate on level ground, then take in all the different compression ratio's from different piston and head combonations, whats balanced on the balancer in the machine shop, is not even close in a 2 ton truck hauling 10 tons of gravel on a 6 degree incline, many 350's from the mid 90's run 300K miles from the factory, now I'm pretty sure if someone uses after market rods weighing 560grms and light weight pistons it would be wise to remove a little from the counter weights, but thats not my intentions,
