Re: I keep burning my spark plug wires

Most boots stand up to indirect heat relatively well...

Is there any part of the wires or boots actually touching the head or primaries?

I've fabricated my own "looms" that hold the wires away from any surfaces

Re: I keep burning my spark plug wires

Defenitely use some kind of loom to keep the wires neatly away from the header tubes. As far as the boots go, boot protectors are available that go over the boots to sheild them from extreme heat. I can't remember the brand I've used just now. Maybe Spectra? Look for them at a performance automotive supplier like Summit Racing. Warning, they are not cheap. Also, if your exhaust temp seems excessive, look at timing to be retarded, exhaust too restrictive. Excessive exhaust temp will burn up alot more than your plug boots.

Accel shorties plugs if you like Accel products.

Definitly some sort of loom & retainers.

these work well

but you normally have to take the boots off to slide these on.
