Lock up with vacuum HEI

I'm replacing my CC HEI in my 85 LG4 Firebird, because all the wiring is messed up and sensors have been clipped by the previous owner. I am using the ELDL port wiring to lock my torque converter with a manual switch. My questions is, if I change out my HEI will I still be able to use this method to lock my converter?
