My Modified IROC vs My 2013 370Z Touring

The IROC is equipped with a 5.7 V8 in front of a T-5. The rear ratio is a limited slip 3.23. 330 HP @ 5000, 380 ft. lbs of torque @ 3800.

The 370Z is equipped with a 3.7 V6 in front of a 7-speedo auto (and paddle shifters). The rear ratio is a limited slip 3.40. 332 HP @ 7000, 270 ft. lbs of torque @ 5200.

Both vehicles are in the 3200-3300 pound vicinity.

Which car would likely be the winner at quarter mile's end?

Top end would also be interesting. The 370Z is electronically limited to 155. My guess is that the IROC would be in that ballpark.

Only one way to know for sure, James. Let's take them to the track. I'll drive your IROC.

BURN!!!

If you can launch the IROC pretty well you should get the early lead. But the 7 speed and the higher rpms of the 370 may eventually run you down.

The favor is looking good for the 370z. It has a little better gears but also with the 2 extra gears it will have a lower gear for lauching. If you put better gears in the Iroc with the torque maybe but also which one is lighter?

The Iroc-Z will more than likely be the winner at the end of the 1/4 mile, just from looking at the data alone it will have a much better rate of acceleration...

IROC wins all day if it actually makes that power and you can shift/launch!

Similar power, weight and gears so it should be close.

Whether the IROC wins or not, it will sound much better trying. But I would advise against doing this at all unless you have an extra T5 ready to go.

The Iroc will destroy it off the line with the torque but the 370 has really different tranny ratios the rear gear isnt all of it cause I bet it goes through gears just as fast as the Iroc just with a way higher rpm redline. It has tighter gears for the 7 gears cause you probably have the same overdrivejust 7 gears coming to it for tighter gears

Re: My Modified IROC vs My 2013 370Z Touring

Here's what I've found.

From Nissan:
13.3 @ 105.7

From CarCraft and ProSim Drag Simulator (the weight was a bit more and the gears a bit steeper behind a TH350):
12.98 @ 104

BTW, the exhaust note on the 370Z is pretty darned cool, though maybe not as wicked as the IROC at WOT.
