30 lb injectors

I bought accel injectors on ebay that were advertised as 25 lb injectors, and ended up with 30 lb injectors (they have a little 30 on them).

Can I run these in my 89 TPI 350 without any computer work? The only mod to the car is a hooker 3" catback and soon headers.

Should I get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for this thing?

Nope, you'll need to reprogram the chip to set the injector constant to 30 lbs/hr. I don't know anything about the Accel injectors, but just because they have a 30 on them means they are 30 lbs/hr unless that's how they actually label them. One of the few smart things Ford did was give their injectors different color tops for different flow ratings.

No, you need to change the constant in the chip for any injector size change, and with a 30 instead of a 22 you'd have too. As stated, that 30 doesn't neccesarily mean 30lb injector.

Even if you change the constant in the chip, why? You're not even close to the limits of your factory injectors(around 450bhp). Too large of injector could easily hurt performance and mileage.
Also, most every one who has/had Accel injectors had trouble with them. Mostly consistency issues. One flows 30, one flows 27.. another 36.....makes proper tuning basically impossible. In fact, a lot of guys that tune won't touch a car with accel injectors....

Accel injectors do label in black ink on the side thier actual flow rating. So I am pretty sure in this case 30 means 30 lb/h.

This is what I was afraid of. I should relist them on ebay and get some other injectors.

The injectors are black and yellow if that matter for flow rate at all

At least you got accel injectors when you were buying accel injectors.

I had the misfortune of buying a set of 26 lb accel, that turned out to really be a bosch set at 21lbs. Turned around and got a set of Ford Racing ones from Jegs. Expensive mistake.

Good luck!
