1989 700R4 into 1993 9C1 Caprice

Curious about this swap. Does anyone know the following?

1. If the speedometer on the Caprice is cable driven or electronic? IF it is electronic, can the tailshaft be swapped out with the 1989 700R4 one? (The 89 tranny is a fresh rebuild, so would swapping the tailshaft from the dead 93 transmission hurt it in any way?)

2. Is the electrical connector on the side of the trans in a 1993 Caprice a 4 or 5 prong type?

Guess that's pretty much it. These are the only pitfalls of the swap I know of. Am I missing anything?

THANKS!!!

the 93 has to be electronic speedo for two reasons, #1, it's a 4L60E trans, and #2, the speedo on the dash is digital. I think they all went to electronic speedo by 91.

not sure about the other two questions really.

It's not an electronic transmission.

If the speedometer is electronic, can the tailshafts of the two trannies be swapped without any negative effects?

I went the other way, my Camaro has a 4L60 from a 93 Caprice 9C1. The TCC connector has 4 pins, not 5. I'm pretty sure the Caprice has an electronic speedo, but you wouldn't need to change the whole tailhousing, just the speedometer gear housing/VSS. I had to swap the tailhousing on mine anyway since the Caprice doesn't have a torque arm. You'll also need to swap the levers on the selector shaft.
