Make sure the shift cable is properly adjusted before making a major decision.

Did you solve your problems ? I have the same. The reverse doesn't work, and when I put the N, the car moves. All the wires and cables seems ok. Now I have the transmision out of the car, and next week I want open the gear box looking for something broken, but I have never done it. Problably the reverse band or the clucht it's old.
I was looking for in youtube any video explaining how to do it, but I only found for the 4L60e, not for the 4L60 ( 1990 V6 Firebird ).
I have the service manual, but don't explain how to do it, and as you see, my English it s very bad and it's dificult to me to understand the technical words.

I know it's very dificult, but I haven't nothing to loose. In Spain repair it it's more expensive than buy one in the USA and pay the delivery and taxes.
I opened it and I have found something rare :
Between the valve body and the valve filter are a check ball case with a little damage, like as the ball had too much travel working and the ball consume it . And with the gasket it happens the same. I have read the manual service, and says that it's the "55F #8 check ball (2nd /1-2)". I suppose that these didn't have relation with the reverse, but it' posible that the presion works bad in the circuit ?

Tomorrow I will take of the pump to see the band. What it's the size to know if it's too small ? or how can I know if it doesn't work well ?.
Thanks a lot
