How difficult to replace transmission lines?

Car: 1986 camaro Sports Coupe
Engine: L31 350
Transmission: 89 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42 gov lock
How difficult to replace transmission lines?
Hey guys, how hard it is to replace the metal lines for my tranny? One of my lines is Already leaking so I went ahead and bought two six ft lines to replace them but I'm wanting to know just what I have to look forward too, I know I have to bend the lines and I have a line bender so help please.

i dont want to sound like a noob but i am,can you use rubber hose for the tranny cooler lines

This is one of the first repairs I had to make to my car when I got it. Job itself is fairly simple. Amount of room to work is tight. Lower the trans as far was you can safely. Helps to take the distributor cap off so you dont crack it when the engine tilts. Should give you just enough room to get a wrench on the fittings. Unscrew from the tranny, unscrew from the radiator, and install the new lines.
As for the rubber line question. I replaced my lines with rubber and never had an issue. Ran the car for about a year this way before parking it for its rebuild. People say its fine to do others disagree. The pressure in the lines isn't great so if you do it just be safe and double hose clamp each end.

It seams I remove and install these with the tranny and engine in the car about once a year. The first go around when bending the new lines could be difficult getting the fittings to line up on the tranny but its doable. Get ready for some bloody knuckles.

I was thinking about using rubber so I went to our local hydro shop and talked to them. They had the right hose and fittings just needed to know how long I wanted them. I decided to make my own out of brake lines, I would go under the car and measure were I needed to put bends and took my time and bend the pipe. Turned out pretty nice.

the worst part is getting them to line up so you can attach them
