raised white letter tires

I am looking for raised white letter tires for my 89 formy. I want to keep the 245/50/r16 size but I can't seem to find local dealers that sell the radial T/A's or the Firehawk indy 500's from anywhere. I checked discount tire, sears, and just tires. I also tried the tire dealer on elmhurst just after oakton, for those in Des Plaines, IL. I need help, help please! All tires need replacement.

Re: raised white letter tires

Good luck, I use to work for a tire shop from 99-01 and I looked for some white letter tires in that size through the distributors we used and never found any.

Re: raised white letter tires

why, uh, cause I do. One of my 89's is a race car, the other is a street car. My street car looks good with the raised white letters. Does anyone know where to get these?

Re: raised white letter tires

hey man i think auto zone or a parts store might have this paint pen for tires. i think from dupont and you just trace the letters on the tires and it makes the tires have the white letter look. OR i think they have other colors. SO check them out and see if that helps ypu. -Matt

u won't find any firehawks with the 245 aspect in white lettered. they just don't make them.

i hav 15" centerlines 15x10 rear and 15x8 front. i do have the firehawk ss20 on the back that are like bran new. they are 295/50/15. the fronts are shot and are daytona.(they don't match) so i was looking for 235/60/15 for the front in the firehawk ss20 form. guess what they disc them. so now i have to buy front and rear firehawk indy 500, which is ok. atleast i can still get them but it p1ssed me off that i have to buy 4 new ones when i only need 2.

so to answer ur ?. u will prolly have to go to a 50 side profile to get white lettered anything. i don't know if they have them in 16". u'll have to check.

Re: raised white letter tires

I have Mohawk Predator SRS Tires with the white lettering, these look pretty sweet and they fit the stock wheels. Got em at Tire Warehouse.

Re: raised white letter tires

What is wrong with raised white lettering. I had that on my 86 once and it looked killer. I might do it again. Some people want their car to look different. It is his car so if he wants RWL he should get RWL.

This is America and if you keep searching you will find what you want.

Re: raised white letter tires

Sorry to bring back such an old thread but I'm in the same boat. I really want the white letter look to go with the 16' Irocs I just got a hold of. However, it appears that nobody makes a white letter tire for a 16' wheel. How well do those pens work? Is it something that will last maybe a week or so? I'm kind of thinking my only option here is selling these wheels and looking for some 15s.

Ha, ha, ha....those paint pens don't work too well IMHO!!! They make a mess, not to mention hard to paint inside the lines and start comming off in a couple weeks...lol.

Not very well. Tried that back in the day with terrible results. Dried out...grayed...chipped off. Bad.
