Best tool for blowers!!!!

I got a HUGE set of FREE Matco tools today for my apprenticeship program at CarMax. And in it was a nifty little tool. A Belt tension gauge. I didn't know a tool like this existed.

Well, I think this little guy will be useful for the formula. Because I dont have a good method for seeing if I have the tensioner adjusted properly. Well I put it on today and it read about 60 pounds of tension. My stock accessory belt was at 95 pounds.

So THATS why it seems like I lost power. I thought it was all summer heat making me slower. Well I tighten it up to 130 pounds of tension. On the tight side of the green area on my gauge.

Fast forward to 30 minutes ago. I took the Blown WS6 out for a spin. I came across a brand spanking new Mercedes S 55 AMG. I tease the old guy with my throttle and get him to race at the next light. I took of slow to see if he was going to race first. He was ON IT. But I pulled him REALLY good. Caught him by 80mph. I'd say he got spanked.

He didn't look at me at the next light. So I honk and tell him to roll his window down. I say, "Damn thats pretty fast to hang with my car. I have a charger on this thing." I try to be nice whenever I win.

"Yeah but by 140 I'd say bye bye!" Damn he thinks his car is so bad ***. But its not.

"Actually this thing will run to 160+ but you're looking good going fast!" I'm still trying to be a good sport about whooping him.

He shrugs and pulls off. I raced a few other cars. It was hard to tell if they were racing because they were stock new GT's and stuff of that caliber.

Ok justin rematch!!!

I'm betting I can run 112mph traps now even in the hot summer heat. If you want to know about the tool and want one for yourself, Its a Kent-Moore Belt Tension Gauge part # BT-33-73-F

BTw i just looked up the S 55 AMG.

5.5L V8 rated at 360 hp 530Nm torque (can someone convert to foot pounds?)

0-60 in 6.0 sec. (no wonder he was kinda sluggish out of the hole while I waited to see if he was racing.)

top speed 250 Km/h (whats that in mph?)

530 Nm = 391 ft lbs

I'm very interested in the tension gauge. Can you supply a contact, such as a phone number or a website address?

You can get it from any Matco distributor. I'm guessing Mac and Snap on proabbly have one offered too.

But the one I have is FROM matco but a Kent Moore tool.

I provided the part number in my original post.

Its a great tool for anyone who has a manual tensioner for thier blower belts. It gives a MUCH more precise way to measure if the belt is too tight or too loose.
