On a TPI 305 with a NOS 100-150 wet kit added, running only a 100 shot, is it necessary to retard the timing? Its suggested that 2 deg for every 50hp is whats meant to be used.
Question is: Doesn't the TPI motor have a "knock" sensor in it already?
And: If retatding the timing is a must, won't that just completely kill any power the 305 has for normal driving?

Just get yourself an ignition box and retard that only comes on when the nitrous is active. MSD of course comes to mind but there are several. Then you can have your full timing for regular driving and still be safe for the nitrous.

Yeah, I was lookin at MSD stuff today...think that is a good idea.
Question: After market chip which I have installed, gives me aggressive timing. Will the timing retard box that MSD makes, defeat the advance the chip is trying to acheive when I set the timing on the MSD box?
