heads and intake for my blown 91 Z-28?

Now that the project for the N/A 92 B4C is going well, I am turning my attention to the top end of the blown 91 Z. I am considering a Holley Stealth Ram ($550) and a set of Canfield 197cc (200cc) street heads ($950). This works out well because $1500 is about what I have to spend anyways. If anyone has some alternative ideas for the same price please let me know. P.S. I will consider a hand me down package from any TGO member in good standing.

you have the roots um sure NOT! I did check out a 142 on e-gay for $950 in great shape, newer one too. I don't know why I was looking. Any ways your article about the basic way to build to make good power is right on the mark. I have been telling people for years the same thing "keep it simple stupid" simple can be strong and simple isnt always the cheapest but it wont break the bank either. I just wasnt following my own advice. I have this splayed cap .030" 400 block. Sonic tests awsome, but I am still going with a 1/4 fill (damn the aftermarket blocks). I have these custom JE 415 blower pistons. But breaking the "KISS" rule I was going to use some custom 3.832" stroke crank and nice 5.7" rods (1.834" comp height pistons). I though about it for a while, my blower is just a P-1sc not a D-1sc and it can be a bear to EFI a set of big port heads without a lot of hassle and expense. I cant make the blower and the heads big without great expense but I can make the motor smaller for efficiency. My decision was a large journal 3.25" factory steel crank (bought $250) and a set of AMS 6" H-beam rods (bought $262). along with the block and pistons it will be a stout short block, top that off with these AFR's and a HSR (holley stealth ram) add the blower and or my 05151 NOS kit and wham! dirty the track! no j/k I hope not. I may not put the juice on it I might not need to.

yeah man!! Long have i dreamed of a stealth rammed intercooled procharger setup. very simple. even a normal old ZZ4 crate motor could handle a 12 PSI intercooled setup like that, and make well over 500 RWHP doing it. very easy.

not cheap though. the whole reason i want roots / tbi was because it is nearly $4000 cheaper than procharger / mpfi...

but the itch for better fuel economy / more power is coming back. just think 25 MPG / 700RWHP without the bottle. add the bottle and you have somthing that could rival monty's beast. well maybe not that mean... heh..

did you know it only takes 5 Lbs of downward force to rip an ear off? I did not know that.

hey would a 58mm be mandantory or would a 52mm do it? oh like monty!?! Blasphemer!!! j/k. oh and about the ear: yeah my judo instructor taught me some jujitsu he told me that the scary one is the two hands entwined full of hair atop a head turned in opposite directions can scalp a man with little effort ( a child could do it ), and with less effort you can generate debilitating pain. my fav is the chin in the eye socket when grappling though. speaking of intercooled blown stealth rams this cannot be overlooked http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/show...hreadid=165471 (Spearco & YS Trim plumbed)

oh yeah, i know about that one. thats my idle, (pun intended). i have his videos, i know all about his car. dont you see my posts at the bottom?

and after all that he is getting good fuel economy great drivability and the thing is super fast. a shot of nos and some slicks and he would catch monty, i think, considering monty's tires dont stop spinning.... my 305 RS tbi could take monty off the line... i would leave him sitting there smoking up the place... hehehehe....

j/k monty i love your car

I have no doubt montys motor would probably propel a 8 second heavy drag car (some might bust out their moroso calculator and say faster and they would be right) or a low 6 second rail?
