| Getting parts together for Draw-through to blow-through conversion Hey everyone,
I'm getting some parts together to convert the drawthrough turbo on my brother's 77 vette to a blowthrough. As of now, I have (or will be getting)
-Holley DP 650, mech secondaries
-various stuff for the carb prep, solid floats, jet extensions, etc.
-Torker II single plane manifold
-Turbonetics carb hat
I searched the boards and got lots of useful info, but I've still got a few questions. The turbo is capable of about 9 psi
-I know the fuel pump needs to be boost referenced. AFAIK, the vette is running a stock type pump. Will it be able to handle a line to the atmospheric vent, or will it most likely crap out? I'd have to tack a fuel pump onto my list.
-The other thing i am slightly confused about is the surge valve/BOV. I know what they both do, but i was wondering if i usedan OEM BOV like this , will it act as both a surge valve and a BOV since it is boost referenced? The only thing i am worried about is that those cars usually make like 14 psi boost, and that the spring on those BOV's may be too tight for what I need it for.
I'd appreciate any info or suggestions you may have | | |
