I'm using the BBDS turbo Header, everything else I'm getting from other sources. I'm using a T.61 Powermaster Turbo with a 70 A/R Turbine Housing and a 96 A/R Exhaust Housing. I moved the alternator to the Passenger side and made a custom tensioner rod. I also made the Hood Blisters into Functional Heat extractors, and Made a Custom Rear Strut Tower Brace. If someone can host Pictures I have Pictures of all mods listed.
For some reason I just love that alternator bracket. Isn't it funny how little details like that get attention? I wish I had thought of that for my TT Iroc, instead of using the serp/v-belt combo. That would have really cleaned up the installation.
PS- I just looked at that again- how do you plan to route the belt? It looks to me that you will need to put an idler somewhere on the LH side. Or maybe convert to a standard rotation water pump and drive it off the ribbed side of the belt.
The way I have the belt running it is turning the water pump in the same direction as the stock config. did.
The Belt runs from Crank to Power steering Pump, over to the bottom side of the water pump pulley, then the alternator, and back to the crank. So the back side of the belt runs the water pump.
No pic needed. I understand now. I should have picked up on that- now I feel stupid. Like I said earlier, that is an excellent idea. I just wish I had seen that pic before I converted to the pre-88 V-belt setup for my 89 twin turbo iroc! Serpentine belts just work so much nicer and give a cleaner look to the install.
:hail: Wow! looks great, clean install! Makes my car look like some cobbled together junk (ok, well it actually is).
Any times or numbers yet? What kind of intercooler is that? It looks like you just had to space the radiator further back and put the IC in place of the AC condensor, correct?
The intercooler is a custom made job. A friend of mine owed me a favor so he built it for $100. It is 31" End to End, 12 " Tall, and 3" thick. It has a 2 1/2" intake and a 3" outlet. I had to notch the lower Radiator support so it would slide back toward the motor. Then for the Top I used a piece of Alum. mounted to the stock mounting holes and drilled new holes in the Alum. for the top Rad/Fan support.
The Turbo is a Power Master .60 w/.70 A/R Intake, and .96 A/R exhaust housing, All piping is Ceramic Coated, except the Intake Pipe ( getting that done this weekend)
do you have any pics of your exhaust setup? namely the crossover pipe that goes from the driver side bank to the passenger side (if you used one of course)? also what did you use for exhaust from the downpipe back?
The cross over is made out of 2 1/2 " Mandrel bent pipe that I made myself. No Pictures..... I bought 2 1/2" Mandrel U bends and cut them up and reweldeduntil it was a perfect fit, then I had it ceramic coated.
My down pipe is 3" Mandrel pipe Wrapped and sprayed with DEI's Header Wrap Silicone High temp Sealant Paint, connecting to ATR's 3" CAT Back exhaust.

did you go behind the engine with the cross over or in front? if behind, what kind of ground clearence do you have? i hope you ran it behind for what i want.

excelent. it should have about the same ground clearence as a 3 inch y pipe setup shouldnt it? im just worried because ill be running the eibach pro kit.
The Alternator would have interfeared with the Intake piping, locates it lower on the motor, and easier to run the belt without using the stock a/c bracket.

The compressor is connected to the exhaust turbine. More exhaust heat/pressure means more power to drive the compressor and it spools.
The wastegate is a valve on the exhaust before the turbo an when that opens some exhaust gasses are wasted (= not going thru the turbine ). With the wastegate you control the amount of exhaust that is used to drive the turbine wheel.

So the exhaust gases that arent going through the turbine just go into the exhaust manifold(s)..to the cat(s) and then out the muffler?

Yes.
Or just out to open air like the on the picture posted by BBSDesigns above. ( wastegate in the upper right )
Well, I fixed the starter Thrusday and brought the Camaro to its 1st local car show (for you S.Fla guys, Tower Shops). Everyone loved it..... I had a few people ask how much I would charge to do there Cars/Trucks. You should have seen the Ricers that would walk by....
Everyone that looked at it would ask what does it dyno at or what does it run in the 1/4..... I told everyone, I don't know this is the farest I have driven it at one time. (10 miles) I still have alot of things I want to do to it. BTW: I'm running 6 psi of intercooled Boost.
Hey rtkjadams, you say your running 6psi.Do you have it wastegated to that? I was wondering how the Masterpower turbos performed.I have a RayJay with EE wheels and a .90 exhaust. It's done at about 450-475 fwhp and I'm looking for a lot more but the big Garretts are quite expensive. Thanks

I just sent new pictures to Chris, I'm sure he'll post them soon.
As far as the Power Master Turbo is concerned, I think it works awesome. But this is my 1st ever Turbo car. And yes I'm only running 6psi using a TAiL 40mm Wastegate to control the boost. The other Night I was leaving a local car show where we get close to 500 cars every Friday Night, there was these 2 Firebirds (LS1's) both with Drag Radials lopey idles and pretty loud exhaust. Well we raced from a 45 mph roll, when I hit it I spun pretty good until I lifted alittle and got back into it. So they had about a 1 1/2 on me, Well that didn't last very long....... I SMOKED the both of them. By the time I hit 100 mph I had 2 cars on them and pulling away. I can't wait until I turn the Boost up to 10 - 12 psi with alittle alcohol injection. I'm also gonna get some Drag Radials too.
I had about 6 people at the car show ask me to build them a turbo setup for there cars. What do you guys think a fair price would be to build and install turbo kits into cars????

Sorry so long,

Six pack for single turbo apps, dozen for twins, and twins intercooled require one COLD case(insert your brand here) in advance and T-bones for all involved on completion. Seriously though I want to see a pic of your "Custom Rear Strut Tower Brace."
