LT1 & turbocharger in a 3rd gen

Guys,

I have searched and searched but I keep coming up with nothing. Is there any possible way that I can have a LT1 in my thirdgen with a turbocharger without customizing the brackets? I have heard because of the steering gear box it is impossible. Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jay

Yeah I agree but I like things to be as straight forward as possible. I don't have a lot time to do all types of different modifications and things of that nature. So if there is a way to easily install one and someone would like to tell me how that would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks,
Jay

I dont think it would be all that difficult... with my lt1 there is tons of room.. you might have to do some custom tubing but other than that i dont see why it couldnt be done.

why does it matter if its lt1 or standard 350. you could just buy the kit from bbs and slap it on. Or am i misunderstanding you?

I was just going by what I have heard and trying to find out if it was some truth behind it. Are any of you guys running turbochargers on your LT1 if so could you post some pics? What type of turbochargers would you guys suggest if I were to go with one?

Thanks,
Jay

BAD BIRD

turbos and lt1s are really nice but you just have to watch for detonation in stock bottom end it will eat them up fast. since thay have realitive high compression head mods might be a good idea. check this link out it shows 4th gens but same idea. just use a turbo kit from bbs for 3rd gen.

do a rear mount ..... one of the instructors at my school has a Lt-1 T-87 turbo'd S-10.... stock ECU tune and the turbo is mounted remote...

use a fuel solenoid wired to the TPS for fuel enrichment
