Alright, I will go slow for you.
Turbo. How does it run? You route all the exhaust from all 8 cylinders into one side of the turbo called the turbine side. The exhaust gases spin the impeller inside of this housing. The impeller is connected to a shaft that goes to the other side of the turbo called the compressor side. There is an impeller connected to that side which sucks air into the turbo and pushes it out the turbo.
To route all your exhaust to the turbo, you will need something that routes all the gases to the turbo. This negates the need for any commerscially available headers. You will be forced to use either a pair of cast iron manifolds (which are difficult to find) or have headers custom built to route all gases to the turbo.
Next, you will need to route all the air pulled in from the compressor side to the intake. You will have to have this as a sealed tube from the turbo to the throttle body so as not to lose the air, or pressure from the compressor. Hence, an open element is not going to do you any good.
